How to clean marble in bathroom?
Comments (7)I have tumbled marble in my bathroom and tried a tile spray to remove the soap buildup as well as Quick n brite. These two did not work for me, though. After browsing a tile forum I came up with using an ammonia based product. I ended up using pine-sol diluted in my bathtub and a non-scratching scrubby. Not only did this work, but when I drained my tub the little grip circles on the bottom of my tub were back to white...something that even a soaking with bleach couldn't seem to fix for me....See MoreHow to clean etched slate floor in bathroom?
Comments (2)I think that I would try a steam cleaner of some kind. Slate is kind of porous and a steam cleaner that both lays down steam and then sucks it back up seems like that might work. It may take numerous times doing it but that would be my next option. You might also be able to do that with boiling water and a shop vac, if you don't have or don't want to buy a steam cleaner. I hope this works....See MoreHow do you clean bathroom floors?
Comments (7)I use a Hoover Floormate #800. I love this thing and it was worth the high price. A friend had one and raved about it and she let me use hers twice. I was hooked. Easy to operate - it's just like vacuuming. It vacuums up dust and hair and crumbs, sprays a disinfecting cleaning solution down, then spinning bristles scrub the floor spotless, then it squeegeys and sucks up all the water leaving your floors practically dry. All in one sweep! It leaves a pleasant scent too, not "disinfectant smelling and not all 'flower-y' either. There is a special attachment and special bristles for doing grout and special grout cleaner to use if you wish. The #800 model has two hose attachments for tight spaces and corners. Floormate can be used in kitchens and on wood or laminate floors all over the house. This is not an advertisement. I just love my Floormate and wanted to share. If you go to those consumer ratings sites like Epinions or Amazon you will see that with Floormate people either LOVE the thing or they hate the thing. There does not seem to be any 'in between' ratings. If my bathroom floor does not really need a cleaning and just has daily dust and hair I run a Swiffer over it. You can save money by just using a square of paper towel that has been sprayed with either plain water or some disinfectant spray cleaner. It will still pick up dust and hair....See MoreHow can I redecorate bathroom with green faux marble floor tiles?
Comments (28)The tile is vinyl...she can't paint the "grout". To me wall color reads a little too much on the blue side, it needs more of a yellow undertone to go with your tub & vanity top. I think the clean white can work for trim and vanity, but only if you bring in more of the creamy/tan colors. I'd just stick with a fairly monochromatic theme-no prints because then you're really stuck with a 'theme'. You can bring in a print with wall art. I'd go more with texture than print, however. In our main bath reno, we have the same tub configuration. We put in white/gray marble tiles with a light grout. The tiles have a touch of tan in them also. I went with a blue wall color-reminiscent of beach glass, and all white trim. We put up beadboard on the ceiling where there used to be a flurescent light tube box built in. I used brush silver accessories and bright white towels. For the shower curtain I chose a shimmery blue one from Ikea. I don't have a 'theme' other than ahhhhh=it's just very calming to walk in there. I do have a stone Buddha and a couple of small shadow boxes of Asian coins. In any case, I'd definitely get a different shower curtain-that one just does not work with your floor....See Morepiaa
