Maybe a leather L sectional with the short side or chaise on the window side of the room with the long back in front of the folding doors. Two chairs on the kitchen wall side. Maybe another chair opposite next to the chaise end by the FP. Side tables to fit. Coffee table with Poofs or small ottomans that fit under for the little ones to pull out and use for extra seating.

Morning! No, I wouldn't leave the yellow. You might want to post a pix looking into the kitchen since they share the same paint color. Go with a taupy tone... As for the drapes, I am ALWAYS pushing these but you cannot beat them for an expensive look (linen) lengths and price. I've used them for umpteen years in several homes and have the beige. The beige is a shade that also works with grayish beiges....I have that tone now. I never would use the tiebacks included....awful look. They also send iron on fusing so you can hem them to your length. They're probably the only drapes that come in extra long lengths (118") that won't break the bank or demand custom. Cut the tabs off, turn over the material, hem and use clip rings. Tabs are not a great look IMHO. I notice that online they don't have the beige ones at the 118" length but do the gray. I'm not sure why since I've bought them before. Save pattern for a rug and pillows.

The fireplace looks "tacked on"...It needs some framing and a mantle redo. The brick is fine and very timeless. I would look for a small scale low back sofa that you could place backing to the kitchen.....and of course some bar stools for people who want to be part of the kitchen action. And ditch the mirror for a more traditional simple framed one. I am a big fan of a mirror in a narrow room to give the illusion of more width. One house we owned had a long narrow living room....and the new owners covered the short wall with mirror tile....made it look like a hallway!

Hi. Lot's of potential here! 1) TV console is fine, as long as you like that style. Lower the tv. Center should be at about 48" from floor. 2) The arrangement previous owners had was perfect. Buy a 3 seater sofa and 2 swivel chairs, flanking the tv. The sofa should be pulled forward. 3) Large coffee table centered on the fireplace. 4) Grouping above fireplace is too small and dainty. I'd use art instead. add art with a black frame and then move those plants in toward it to soften the space betwee the art and the windows.
