home makeover-living room edition!
Comments (1)Also, the color around the light switch is a different color- BM winds breath. Had it leftover from another room so tried it out. It looks a little washed out in some lighting.. but maybe something along those lines?...See MoreEDITED (photos added) Living room layout help please!
Comments (16)Consider a grouping of four swivel chairs in front of the fireplace and a pair of upholstered benches at the two windows; game area in the corner if your bunch enjoy that kind of family time. I see a chain hanging from the ceiling which reminds me to ask about lighting. What kind of fixture lights the stairwell? If you ever want to add TV, consider enclosing the stairs with a pony wall pre-wired for TV on living side and for a pair of sconces on the stairs side. Here are some fun and comfy looking chairs. These are a bit more traditional; what's your style? One take on the pony wall idea....See MoreGuest room decor ideas, please! (edited for brevity)
Comments (16)I have tried to match Farrow and Ball paint with Ben Moore and believe it cannot be done well. There is such a depth of pigmentation to the F&B and it interacts with light so differently - especially with neutral colors. Instead I think it is best to find a Ben Moore existing color that is a close match, use big swatches of it on the wall and see if you like the Ben Moore color. This link shows Maritime White as the closest match to Diminty. I used Maritime White in my old kitchen and adored the color. Does it look anything like the Dimity in my bedroom? Not at all. But finding these supposed equivalents could lead you down a path to finding a good Ben Moore color you would not have originally thought of. https://www.colorsbykellyhaller.com/farrow-ball-colors-matched-to-benjamin-moore Also, you may want to splurge on F&B in just one room. If you are doing a whole home renovation, a gallon of expensive paint won't even be a drop in the bucket....See MorePlease help me pick paint-Dining Room Edition.
Comments (495)Slow. I ordered the rug and a new chair. Moved some plants up. Been looking at natural texture blinds. Once the rug comes I'll be able to settle on places for things. I'm trying to decide where I want the rocking chair, too. It's in a nice dark corner right now and it looks great against the wall, with a plant next to it, but I had a bookcase there before. :/ Not sure on the dining room and I'm no longer feeling dark night. Borscht might have been a better choice. I don't want to pay to have it repainted so I'll probably just live with it. Maybe I can bring those colors in with decor and let the paint fade to the background?...See Morefunctionthenlook
