Kitchen Cabinet Color Help, Cool & Warm Grey in 1 Kitchen
Comments (5)you don't want white, and the darker colors, you say, will make it too dark, so that leaves you with light gray or one of those tones. what in the world are those cab made from? and who picked that granite to go w/those cabs? you say you're renting. they're letting you paint those? if they're made of a laminate type of material, the prep work for those will be necessary. quite frankly, I don't think it will look great painted. Do you really want to go through all of the work to paint those? have you ever painted cabinets? It's not something you can do in a weekend. Besides, that wood strip on the cabinets is kind of cool looking. changing out the country style cup pull to more of a bar pull will look better w/that style cabinet I'd leave the cabs and look into gettin a pre-fab, plain white or soft gray, quartz countertop. a 9' piece will cost about $450. fabricator can cut it to fit for another 600-900. maybe less depending on the layout of your kitchen. here's an example of pre-fab quartz, you only posted a small picture. post a pic showing the entire space...See MoreMixing warm and cool white/gray tones in different rooms?
Comments (1)I have warm creamy whites in my kitchen and white white in the bathroom (subways, tub, sink, towels) with carrara on the vanity. It's just not a thing to me. Yes, different whites, but you can't see the kitchen from the bathroom and it's never occurred to me they need to match. ETA: Although the bathroom is a more pure white, it doesn't feel cool to me, just clean. I don't really care for cool shades in any quantity....See MoreCool grey vs warm grey vs losing my mind
Comments (16)Thanks Cheryl! I hope that's the case with this paint color as well. There can't be anything worse than that contractor's yellow in our ENTIRE house. I have a hard time picturing everything together though - I painted our upstairs bedroom a darker grey and it's more on the warm side. I also put down dark flooring in there and have since decided that dark floor and pet hair don't match. So, I am stuck with those colors in the bedroom! Hoping I can figure out the colors downstairs....See MoreWarm or cool beige to add to cool grays?
Comments (3)In my opinion, I prefer cool colors with cool, and warm with warm. That makes for the best unity in a room. Also, if you have too many neutrals, you may not have enough interest in the room. Take a black and white photo to see the contrast. What are your light, medium, and dark colors? What colors do you like? Take inspiration from a favorite piece of fabric, accessory, or wall decor. Here are cool colors: bright white, taupe, ice pastels, bright red, royal blue, emerald green, forest green, navy, black, gray, purple. Warm colors: off-white, beige, tan, brown, olive green, golden yellow, peach, orange, rust....See MorePeter Ogunamakin
