Wi-sailorgirl I am sorry I just saw your post, have not been back as have been busy with this reno. I know just what you mean, I was pulling my hair out trying to find the right white! I initially went with Ancient Ivory, but when the painter was redoing another painter's messups (whole other thread)and put the first coat on I didn't like it, just looked too yellow. So ran to BM next morning in a panic as painter was due to be back and needed to change the colour. I went in with White Dove painted on a swatch, explained the situation, she asked if I had considered White Dove, I laughed and showed the swatch. She said she had it all through her house and had green undertoned paint colours as well and it went well. She got a can from the back, opened it, I thought it looked creamier than I thought it would be and said "sold". I didn't think anymore of it, just relieved to have found something. Whipped it home to painter and I liked it after it went on, much better. I proceeded to paint the trim in another room (I am doing all the trim, what was I thinking?) and again I liked it and thought hmmmm this does look creamy but only when I thought I had better run to get another gallon and check the lid did I see - and I don't know how I missed it, it is White Down, not White Dove. I just assumed it was White Dove! I don't know if I misunderstood her or it was a mistake. Anyway, it is not as bright as the White Dove, but so far I like the warmth of it, but am contemplating if I should have it 3/4 or half for it looks darker in our hallway, we have Crown Point Sand on the walls and there isn't as much contrast that I would like. Now I am fretting again, having thought I had it all solved! I wonder if it is OK if rooms on their own had a different colour white trim and if I continued on down the hall on trim and doors with White Dove. I will go in tomorrow and talk to them again. But having said all that I do like the colour of White Down. Did you settle on a white yet? Good luck in your search!

what kind of bulbs do you have in there? they look on the lower temperature or 'yellow' end. You may want to replace the lighting, or at least the bulbs to something in a 4000K temp. what color is currently there? it already looks like an off-white. I like using the white straight out of the can with no tint added. it's the perfect white. You could always try that in your closet. with your lighting, it will take on a warmer hue anyway. And, if you don't like it, take it back and have your tint added to it for another color. free. I've never heard of Simply White having a green cast. it's one of the most neutrals whites. Chantilly has a blue/green cast. does it have to be white? why not a color? I'd also paint the wood trim in there a glossy white. it will help w/the freshen-up. Alabaster is a warmer white. pale oak is the perfect neutral and works with everything. (you could do that for the wall and the Alabaster for that wood trim)

The backsplash can be changed so leave that out of the equation. As for the rest find a white you love and use it for the cabinets and the walls then no issues.Or think of another color for the walls I love a really soft grayed green I use ray Wisp BM and often cut it 50% for a wall color that has a bit of color but still really neutral then just do the cabinets and all the trim in Super White.

Thanks for the photo. What looked green to me, isn't in the new photo. I am still leaning toward a light greige. What do you think of B.M. Collingwood for the walls? It is in the off=white collection. I have used this before and it is a delightful color. Add Chantilly Lace for a bright white trim, and the same on the ceiling you have a good combo going. Collingwood loves grays and blues. That will work with a rug in blues. What style rug are you looking for? I like this one because smokey gray isn't the dominant color but it and the other colors will ground the sofa. I also like it for you floors because the border relates well with the tones of the floor.
