Adding window to upstairs bathroom

Amanda
last year

We are needing to add a window to an upstairs bathroom. It will be either a high transom or round window. The space between roofing is very narrow. I’m mostly worried about how it will look at the front of the house.

This is the area it will be going.
I feel like we need to mirror the window on the other side of the roof peak. This would be on the “bed” side of the room I’m so I think it would work out well as long as it would be centered. Will that work?

Should we consider doing some sort of long dormer or just add narrow windows as it is? Would I need to do something on the opposite side of the house to balance it?

Or should I just scrap it and try a sky tube or something that would come in on the back of the house to provide natural light?
