Has anyone painted an earthy lavender or plum?
Comments (10)You're welcome ;) I found Soulmate (wouldn't associate that color with my soulmate, either ;D ). It's much less gray, much more plum to my eyes. I wouldn't think you'd have to bring any of the plum/lavendar into the bedroom, if you brought gold from the bedroom into the bath. Of all colors you mention you have, the only hitch I can see is the maroon/reds, those might not play nicely (they wouldn't in my bathroom). I've got this fan deck all spread out ;) Without setting swatches right next to the lamp shades, IMHO leaning toward a raspberry with less gray, more cool red it in would probably be better. Dressy Rose (6024) or Socialite (6025) have less gray base, a tad more on the plum side. Thistle (6283) is pretty, it's definitely a plum base (getting more into "true" purple). Rose (6290), Moss Rose (6291) and Concerto (6298) are leaning more into burgundy undertones with some plum still incorporated, so it's not going too pink. Anything beyond those, to my eye, starts to turn to mauve. Just my humble .02 ;)...See MorePost Script on Lavender Den
Comments (13)forhgtv, it is too bad. What is really funny is that I don't see anything else on the Macy's website that even comes as close to being as expensive as the one I want. How does that happen? The problem is that true white and grey bedding that is romantic, but not too frilly, is not that easy to locate for a reasonable price. Who knew? I live quite a distance (3.5 hours) from real shopping so I do a lot of shopping online. Something like bedding is difficult to buy online. franksmom, you would think that home decor companies would figure these things out and help wives out a little bit, wouldn't you? But then you would think that department stores that sell bathing suits to women would put in some lighting in those dressing rooms that wouldn't make us want to vomit upon seeing our visage in their bathing suits....See MoreHardening off
Comments (36)This is what has worked for me. Day 1: Put all plants in a clear plastic bin that is tall enough to shelter the plants from any wind. This also acts as a convenient way to carry and water them. Put in partial sun or shade when I get home from work and monitor them every 30 minutes for a few hours. At the end of the day check moisture and add as necessary. Bring in for the night. Day 2: If temps are above 45ish for the whole day, Move all plants to a full shade location and leave them for a half day to full day depending upon how bright a day it is. Bring in for the night. Day 3: In morning before work return plants to full shade spot and leave out for the whole day and whole night. Day 4: when I return from work, fingers crossed, all plants should be fine. If so, move to partial shade for the rest of the day. Day 5: all day and night in a place that gets at least 2-4 hours of direct sun then shade/dappled shade for the rest of the time. Day 6: move to location with full sun for half the day partial/full shade for half the day. Day 7: repeat day 6 if needed. Day 8: Move to full sun location. Day 9: the plants should be tall enough now that they have been exposed to wind, if not have plants out of clear containers for some time. From here on out it's safe to say they are hardened off unless, of course, you have a random hail storm/t storm/heavy winds etc etc....See MoreExterior Paint Color Help - Late Victorian Era Queen Anne - Lavender?
Comments (11)its good that you are trying for lavender... a neighbor was trying for blue and ended up on the lavender side of periwinkle.. quite surprising. i'd still aim for the blue to lavender boundary, so you dont end up all the way to purple without meaning too....See Morececily 7A
