I'm having the same problem with similar hinges, damaged when my armoire was moved! What you and I have are inset face mount hinges. Do a search for that name and check out the link below. Also, check out this site: http://www.winkshardware.com/ It's a local store for me and I've yet to go there, but you may be able to sent them a photo/jpg with measurements and see if they can help. Agree with Sombreuil -- Just installed some last week and used electrician's pliers to shear them off. How far the threads extend into the knob varies by knob/pull type so you might need some trial and error. Here's just one example of the tool you can use. If you look just past the pivot point toward the handle, you'll see a number of different size threads where you insert the machine screw and cut it off to length. Be sure to insert the screw from the threaded side, not thru the back side (DAMHIKT)Stanley version IF you cut or grind off, put a nut on first, pat the cut and when you remove the nut, it will straighten out the threads.

I agree. The bottom knob and back plate reference the vintage one, but acknowledge that they are new. Your instinct is correct.

Do you open your windows in spring and fall and let the fresh air in or keep heat/ac going all year? Unless you need a handicap handle, seriously consider using just basic style knobs -- but choose stainless steel for those knobs and for the hinges. Stainless steel is not going to discolor as other metals likely will (unless, of course, you keep the house climate controlled 24/7 365). Rounded knobs or round levers are more comfortable to the hand than corners. No matter how good a square lever handle might look, it will not be a comfortable.. At least try one before investing in a whole house full of whatever you're considering so you know what you're getting.
