Can anyone recommend shrubs I can use as a screen under a Walnut tree?

I live on a busy road and planted (100) schip laurels last year along the front of my property to create a screen between my house and the road. I planned to keep these laurels pruned at around 6-7ft.

I have a very large Walnut tree with a drip line over about 25 of these schip laurels and was unaware that walnut trees produce a chemical (joglone) toxic to some plants, including my newly planted laurels. As you can see from the photo, they're struggling. The plants under the dripline are not growing.

I will have to transplant them to a different location but am wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what I might be able to replace them with that might serve as a good evergreen screen. I like steeds holly but can't find any reliable resources indicating whether they would be affected by the joglone.

Thank you in advance for any input!
