Advice for arranging small kitchen into L shape layout
Comments (19)I actually did look at a couple 24" fridges in my price range and as much as I wanted them to work I decided the one I picked was better for me. I don't know how long I will live here but if the fridge lasts that long enough I planned on taking it when I leave. No dishwasher and for me personally it wasn't a big deal when I bought the place but I know they are a selling point. I find doing dishes by hand to be quicker and more efficient for me. I also prefer to have the cabinet space over a dishwasher when storage is that limited. With that said I hope to have room in a redo to allow for a dishwasher should the next owner want one. But for now I just want a kitchen that works better and is not an eyesore without investing too much. My improvements have to be budget-minded not only for me but because the house will only get so much in return no matter what is done to it. I know what it is to have so many big ideas and have to downsize everything to something more realistic :) Yes that is a deck that was added on to the house. It will also need redone in time and I would like to expand the porch some when it happens. I do like the idea of sliding doors or at least a full view door. It is amazing in the summer the difference with leaving the back door open. All the light that comes in really brightens and opens the place up....See MoreScale advice for artwork arrangement
Comments (7)I think people who say that you can only have one photo/painting on a wall don't own, or have never been exposed to, large collections of art. There are no rules. Art is personal and subjective. Pieces aren't diminished by having other pieces hung around them. I was lucky to be exposed to the home of someone in the art business. There were paintings from floor to ceiling in every single room. It worked for them and their house. Would I want that much art on my walls? Probably not, but neither of our choices is right or wrong, and it opened my mind to being more creative and free with my own art. Life is too short to do boring cookie cutter decorating!...See MoreNeed advice. How do I arrange living / dining furniture in this space

Comments (15)Thank you all for the fantastic comments and suggestions! We truly appreciate the input. There are so many wonderful ideas that we're excited to incorporate. Firstly, we love the concept of a cozy TV corner, as our gatherings focus more on dinners than TV related events. The comment of keeping the windows clear is particularly on point - that is why we won t put heavy furntiture by the window. We're still exploring the best setup, debating between a corner sofa or a sectional area with the rest of the living space. we liked both suggestions of having 1/ a dining table parralel to the kitchen area - as such it can be an extension of the kitchen for a nice cooking workspace - or 2/ have the desk office area (as shown in the picture) as it would optimise the space. Regarding the master bedroom, it's pretty straightforward, but we're brainstorming different setups for the second room, which would be a mix of a second office (wfh) and and guest bedroom. Thanks again for your valuable feedback, and here's to a wonderful 2024!...See MoreFlo Mangan
