Suggestions for ew (and old) furniture advice and decor for new build
Comments (4)Thanks for bumping. Attached is my drawing of the main floor combining our architects preliminary plans and my suggested tweaks. There will probably be a few more changes after we meet with the architect at the end of this month. Best Views are definitly our back (creek and green belt). Althoug not noted, both front porches are also covered -- required by the architectural guidlines. Our side is the right and will have a guest suite upstairs (the small bedroom downstairs on the right is really an office with a Murphy bed. The "kids" side will have a master and another bedroom upstairs. And I'm afraid that rug won't make the cut, just a bit too floral for the style we're shooting for -- i love it though. I'm hoping to find a rug more like this:...See MoreArt/Decor Suggestions Please
Comments (69)P Banos: Thank you for your thoughts; I agree, I initially wanted a much larger piece there!! I just couldn't figure out how to make it work with the lamps. They would end up blocking the art. I can't move them much further apart because the right one would end up right at the corner of that wall, which would look off. Is it okay to have them block the art in this scenario? I'll photoshop three examples (same random painting I happened to screenshot) ... you tell me where I'm wrong in size/placement (keeping in mind the lamps can't be moved apart much further); do any of these work? Largest size, not centered over sofa but centered on the wall... Still large, but a bit smaller to allow for centering over sofa (still blocked by lamps)... Narrower width, portrait orientation (width would have to be just a bit wider than the current painting to somewhat fit between lamps)... Thoughts?...See Morebuying this house, need a new tv cabinet, wall decoration, suggestion
Comments (1)Are you wanting just a TV console, or a large entertainment unit? This area could definitely take a big unit ... with the high ceilings, lots of windows, strong fireplace, etc. What is your style? You said you’re buying this house, so I’m assuming this isn’t your furniture? Some various styles of units, just to give an idea: A couple of consoles. I have no idea your preferred styles, colors, etc, so just throwing some ideas out here. :)...See MoreDecorating ideas for small laundry room wall Suggestions pix?
Comments (4)RL thank you so much for your wonderful ideas and taking time to photoshop some ideas. I never thought of 3 panel print and that gave me a thought. I enjoy quilting for a hobby and I must have some fabric to “frame out” like your pix. Hmmm. the white box is a cover to gain access to water pipes behind wall. So as long as I can move the items, we are good to go....See Moreruburr
