Need help with a tiny NYC loft/studio apartment layout (IMAGES INSIDE)
Comments (4)I would suggest a 24-36 inch wide commercial metal shelving unit, floor to ceiling, behind your current ladder location. Adjust one of the shelves to approximately counter height and house your coffee pot, toaster and other small appliances on it. Use the lower shelves to store your heavier kitchen items - canned goods, pots & pans, etc. Use the higher shelves for lighter items - trays, cookie sheets, paper towels etc. I've been using a shelving unit in this capacity for the past year and it works quite well. I bought some metal S hooks to hang my untensils - ladles, spatulas , spoons as well as smaller skillets and frying pans. If you don't like to see all of these items you could easily incorporate bin and box storage....See MoreRoom layout suggestions for Studio Apartment
Comments (2)Assuming that plan is drawn with furniture to scale I’d suggest just flipping it so you could take advantage of the niche walls (TV on one side and maybe shelves on the other)….otherwise best to post pics of current space with a floor plan that shows all the dimensions....See MorePlease help me with Studio Apartment
Comments (11)Nice space for sure! I had to turn the plan around as needed to see it walking in. Here's a plan that would work for you. After reading you are an artist and need work space, you can eliminate the lounge chair in the corner near the column or the dining table altogether. I would spend all my money on a Clei Living Unit which incorporates storage, seating and a murphy bed in all different configurations. It's a brilliant system and you can build it around that nasty breaker box. Looks like you are in a big city, so you can go see it in a showroom. https://www.clei.it/en/catalogs If you are handy, you probably can build the same concept. I love murphy beds as they just get hidden in a small space and you get the benefit of a regular mattress. Plus no one hangs out on your bed. The bed pulls down over the sofa....See MoreSmall Studio Apartment Layout/ Design Ideas?
Comments (3)Is your desk a heavy duty piece with drawers etc? If not, maybe put it on casters/dollies and make it a multi-use piece (https://www.lowes.com/pd/WEN/5013732287). Could it replace your kitchen island (can't tell if that's built-in)? Then your desk can be a prep surface in the kitchen, swing around to be a small dining table, and fit against the window/wall as a buffet/bar. Mount the TV on the wall or get a sturdy display stand with a smaller footprint (like this https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/fitueyes-corner-tv-stand-for-tvs-up-to-65-ftys1863.html). Then you can tuck a bench or 2 small seats underneath it to pull out for dinners....See MoreOlychick
