I thought I saw a post like this earlier...but my vote is Magic Carpet. You get a unique color in the spring and fall. With the double gold, the gold is just more intense in the spring and fall. I have all three of the shrubs. Each of the two players plays with their own 52-card pack. The backs of the cards should be different so that they can be sorted out after the game. Each player deals a layout as for Klondike: 28 cards in 7 piles, each having the top card face up and the rest face down. The left hand pile has just one card, the second two, and so on, the right hand pile having seven cards. Between the two rows of 7 piles is space for eight foundation piles, which can be played on by either player. Each player begins with a stack of 24 face-down cards. The player with the lower card on their one-pile starts - or in case of a tie whoever has the lower card on their two-pile and so on. At your turn you can make a series of moves as in Klondike. You may move cards around on your own layout, move cards onto the foundation piles when they fit, and move cards from your discard pile to your layout or the foundations. You are not allowed to play onto or use your opponent's layout or discard pile. You end your turn when you cannot or choose not to make any other moves by turning over the top card of your face-down stack, and placing it on your face-up discard pile. Your opponent then plays. The game ends when one player has played all the cards to the foundation piles, or when both players are blocked, in which case the winner is the player who has played more cards to the foundation piles. I finally got around to taking some pics. From my observations this summer, it's when the leaves transition to the washed out yellow that they start burning from the outside edges inward until the leaf falls off. If anyone is unfamiliar with the "Candy Corn" cultivar, the new growth starts out red, then transitions briefly to an orange color, then a lime green, then yellow, then a washed out yellow...sometimes almost white. Then it burns off, and a new leaf sprouts back in it's place. Moisture is not an issue, and this time of year they get sun until about 5:00 then bright shade the rest of the day. I'm not really looking for an answer, cause I don't think there is one. I think this is a fairly recent introduction (within the past 6 or 7 years maybe?)...so my personal review is that it's somewhat disappointing. I have various spireas all around the property, most in much drier and hotter locations, and they perform flawlessly year after year with little maintenance. After 3 years of these growing, and burning every year in temps as low as 80, I don't think they are near as tough as other cultivars...I'm surprised at the tenderness of the foliage.

Thanks for the lovely photos, mad, and I think Quadra is really stunning. You got that red with your phone. I still use a camera camera. I like the colors it produces better, but I'm just an old fogey. My Festiva Maxima is blooming, too. So here we are all over the US and Italy, enjoying the same peony at the same time. Mine doesn't have the little red spots so far, but it usually does. My FM is a passalong that came to me through many hands. The mother plant is about 100 years old. I have other antique peonies that came from the same person, my good friend's father, who died at age 100 years in 2017. He got his peony tubers from his in laws. Diane
