I could use some advice (sorry, kinda long)
Comments (55)Linda, dropping dirt is exactly what I do ha. I work for a propogating nursery and we have huge compost piles outside which we are generously allowed to use. I take two big plastic boxes left over from when we moved here and fill them every day with the compost (mostly dirt but lots of interesting stuff comes up in it). I take it home and drop it on the sand until I have the size or shape garden I want. I plant it and eventually I border it with dropped cement. I've made about seven gardens of different sizes doing this. Seriously I could drop the dirt and water it and all kinds of goodies would pop up (along with weeds). I've had datura, viola, spiderwort, hyssop and of course petunias come up in it. Adele...See Morenew to the forum and could use some advice
Comments (7)If the POA is unable to make decisions, and there was no alternate named, then the medical personnel will usually default to next-of-kin according to the laws of the state. That is usually the adult children (who will have to be in agreement.) Sometimes we see a POA who for some reason chooses not to be the decision maker (maybe due to their own health crisis, or being overseas for example) and gives written permission for someone else to take on the role (again, it would have to be someone who would be next in line just as if there were no POA) and the medical personnel will accept that. However, strictly legally, a POA cannot name someone else to be an alternate POA for someone; only the original grantor (your father in this case) can do that. If there are severe conflicts among the family over who will be the spokesperson, or decision maker, or the family can't agree, then it becomes necessary to go to court to have a guardian named. I am speaking from my experience as a critical care nurse, not as an legal expert....See MoreI could use some advice
Comments (39)Yes, follow your intuituion. Check the wallet, the phone bill, maybe. Totally surveilling another human being - no way. What this guy did is sick, I don't care if his wife was swinging from the chandelier with someone else. There are no more divorce by adultry statutes left in any state in the US. There is no reason to copy 700 emails. He knew by the 100th one that she was up to no good. OP took spying to a whole new level. Actually, I think he got off on it. Now he wants retribution by getting her fired. What about the children of the marriage? It sounds as if at least one is grown from a previous post regarding the wife dying her hair for an upcoming wedding of the daughter. Even grown childen are affected by this kind of stuff. This person gives me the creeps. Also, I have already heard too much from the "marriagebygrace" folks. I don't care what anyone's religious thoughts are, they're private and shouldn't be forced on others. If you read the instructions to this forum, religion is not to be discussed or posted. I'll now fold up my soap box as I am done with this particular thread....See MorePics of first floor -- could use some layout advice.
Comments (28)I have been really giving this soooo much thought. Every idea someone gives us has been thought out and mapped out!! The lighter bigger beam in the picture is where the natural flow of the house walkway should be. Two feet to the right of that beem is an electrical line, gas line and condensation line all from the second floor furnace. There was no heat on the second and third floor; we added a second furnace and all the ductwork. We have been told that we should not close up the small entrance on kitchen side and only leave the entrance on the left of the beam. Even if we left everything from that beam and to the left open and closed up the small entrance it is "not correct" to walk through middle of the dinning room to get to the other room. We have debated that one many many times as it would give a much bigger kitchen. We also debated closing the whole dinning room wall and only keeping the small entrance but then the house is not open enough for my liking. That is why we came up with the french door idea. My husband and I talked about the pass through and flipping the kitchen. We are also talking about moving the electric, gas and condensation line and putting the entrance to the right of the beam. But then closing off the whole dinning room wall. ( do not think I want to close off that wall all the way). The contractor comes tomorrow for something else and I am going to have him see if we can get sink plumbing in the kitchenette side. The idea of the stove on the windowless wall sound soooo beautiful. I wanted you guys to know how much I am appreciating all your ideas, you have no idea!!!! I know this post is long and full of a lot of facts about my house not yours- thank you for all the time you have been putting into this with me!!!! (for free :) )...See MoreAustin
