Comments (150)My husband was in michigan this week and that was one of the flights he thought about taking on thursday night. He flies a lot and it just hit close to home. Clarence is not far from where we live. We are a little more out in the country. Big sigh of relief. When the news came on at 10pm they announced at the end of the broadcast that a plane had crashed by the airport, but they didn't know anything yet. By the time the 11pm news came on, it was not until after the weather that their news crews made it to the neighborhood and they announced it was a commercial plane. WIVB broadcast without commercial break until I went to bed at 2am. When my husband called to say he was alright i was so grateful. (wipes tears and sniffles) Fran, Could i have the blanket flower, please? BTW, DS#3 watered my keyboard once, its still a little iffy. We set it in from of the blower on the woodstove for a week. Just FYI those of you sowing in the keys LOL! Thank all of you for the prayers. Families here are esp. close knit and things like this are difficult for anyone. Praying for your FIL, too Nichol. Comments (39)Good morning. Y'all hold onto your hats - my sister who has cancer has an unexpected visitor this weekend. Her ex-husband! To refresh everyone's memory, he is the cad who left her when their three sons were 9, 10 and 11 years old - for the young babysitter. He's been through several more since then, and all have left him. When their middle son was paralyzed in a diving accident in high school, he showed up enough to get sympathy, then left town again. I despise him for what he did and didn't do for her and their boys and should really let it go, but just the mention of his name makes me crazy. So this should be very interesting. He is in for a terrible shock when he sees her, but he deserves at least a shock or two. I'm sorry, I should not be bitter, but he's the kind of man (and I use that term loosely) that loved to put my sister down in front of others, even her own sisters. Like why don't you wear clothes like so and so, and you could stand to wear a little makeup, etc. But, the good thing he is going to see her, maybe he'll offer to help out with the situation. Maybe he's turning over a new leaf. The sad thing is his own sons don't respect him, because he's never been a father figure, so this will be quite the visit for them, too. Stay tuned. On a much lighter subject, I love House, Dancing with the Stars, Ugly Betty. The last episode with Cuddy about to adopt the baby preparing to adopt the baby broke my heart. Was not prepared for the ending! Wow. Such good characters in that show - I've always loved Wilson! Re: Ugly Betty - I know it would change the whole show's meaning, but I wish they would allow her to be pretty at least one episode. BJ, thanks for sharing the history of Baby V. I can almost picture him by your description, what a beautiful baby. When are the new parents coming? Peggy, I'm so excited for you - it's like you are re-born. What a beautiful Christmas you are going to have - lights and all! It's going to rain here today. I like a cloudy, rainy day every once in a while - kind of peaceful. At least, it will keep me out of the dirt! QOD: No company, no travel, just hanging out and watching football games - college and NFL with my husband. I've got a couple of Blockbuster movies that I'm ashamed to say I've had since August (it's like Netflix, so no late fees, thank goodness) - The Kite Runner, The Bucket List, and I don't even remember the other - I think it's Smart People with Dennis Quaid. Might be a good movie marathon weekend. I definitely want to do Christmas cards. Just tell me what to do. I've always enjoyed sending them out, but it seems like each year, less people send them. So, this will be fun to share with my new friends! Hope everyone's weekend is a great one! Jan...See MoreSurvivor
Comments (19)Thanks for checking that, sushipup. I don't really care who wins, but my least favorite person right now is Kass. She's just grating on me. I think Tony is extremely astute as to reading people, he must be very confused now, first he thought (rightly) that Woo was lying to him and that Tasha was really safe, and then Kass changed her mind at the last minute and helped vote Tasha out. (Smart move, really, since voting for Tony wouldn't have gotten rid of him.) I can't wait to see what happens back at camp after that vote. I'm glad Tony has 2 idols, he can use one and has one to share next week. I hope he gives it to Trish. I actually think that Trish has played a pretty good game, she's gotten a lot of people to stop and flip and vote the way she wanted them to. And I don't think anyone really hates her like they do Tony, although it looks like Kass is going to soon. LOL...See MoreSurvivor - May 14
Comments (21)Isn't lying and double crossing part of the game? The only times it bothered me were the dead grandmother gambit (over the line!) and those two "Christian" girls who said they thought it was wrong but they needed to do it to get ahead, so did. Either it's part of the rules and expectations of the game and doesn't count as "real", but rather just gameplay, or it's wrong and you don't do it. If you declare it to be morally wrong within the game and do it anyway because you know you'll be forgiven if you pray on it, then it's just the same as if you lied and cheated in real life and think it's okay because He will forgive you. ::barf:: Lying and double crossing in Survivor, off camera, to me, just means that you're just playing smarter. :) BTW, Russel said in some promotional thing this year that he used the production crew to find the hidden idols. He figured that they couldn't watch him doing nothing much forever, so if they put their cameras down he knew he was looking in the wrong place. I don't know if they figured that out and decided to keep filming more recently. ;)...See Morenicole___
