Need help with EXTERIOR colors of brick house - losing my mind!
We have a 1969 salmon Ish colored hip roof brick house with linen grout (looks like Triangle Brick "Old Henry" southwest color) with new WHITE casement windows that have big accent boxes underneath the windows that are wrapped in white metal (see picture)
We are preparing to order new gutters, soffit, facia and downspouts.
1) What color for gutters, soffit, facia and downspouts? (Probably going with Hardie board soffit)
2) What paint color for shutters?
3) What paint color for front door?
The roof will remain the same. The new windows will stay, of course.
I am having a hard time with the white, white windows....the current gutters are tannish with black shutters. I would like to make the front porch pop as it seems to be lost, and feel lighter shutters would be a nice change.
Would we just go with white gutters, soffit, facia and downspouts and lighter shutters and front doors with white porch?
The stark contrast of the white is tough for me....how to soften it all together?

I actually found a neighborhood near here (tipped off by my neighbor who's been thinking of doing this for ten years but has yet to pull the trigger) where there are tons and tons of houses like ours, most painted a single color. They look great. And it's in a very fancy area, which I think explains the greater prevalence of doing this than my specific neighborhood, which is nice but not ritzy (since painting the brick adds a lot of $$). I took pictures of some of these houses, which I'm happy to post. I think it's important though to hire a really really good painter, and to shell out the extra $ for good paint. Comments (5)Match the color of the siding to the red brick. Use white trim and dark blue or dark green shutters. Or paint the siding sage green with black shutters. Not all shutters have to be the "right size". Some houses were designed to have narrow shutters as a colorful accent, not to pretend anyone will shut them in a nor'easter....See More

The green in Patricia’s photo was a custom mix. These are some from Benjamin Moore that could be similar.

Were it my house, I wouldn't have shutters. I would expand the trim to make the apron and window more architectural.
