Comments (5)Are you flipping this house, and therefore looking for something attractive and quick? Or is this a 'keeper', where you are constrained by budget but can invest the time? I agree, the photos aren't in relation to one another. I have no idea what area the second photo is showing, or what direction it's facing. Basic questions: 1) This being CA and a drought situation, what's your water requirements? 2) What's your Sunset zone, which is much more useful than the USDA zone? 3) How much sun, and how many hours of the day? 4) What is the expected usage of this space? Comments (22)The bamboo fencing looks nice when new, but outdoors it's going to weather out soon. Also, you must frame it out or it will look cheap. It's not going to be a long lasting solution. You'd get more mileage out of shade cloth, the nice looking type. It would be cheaper and easier to install, too. Since you're willing to spend some money on a solution, you might have other options in decorative outdoor fabrics. But whatever you do is not going to keep animals that can climb (both snakes and raccoons out if they want to come in. What keeps them out for the most part is that that's where they want to be unless you offer them a food source....See MoreBackyard Design help
