Not in love with new paint

We just had our house painted and I'm not loving how it turned out. What can I do to fix it? I was thinking about repainting the stucco on the front of the house and leaving the sides and the back white with the black trim, to add some warmth to the front. I'm also not sure how I feel about the dark border. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated

Changing the black trim to Revere Pewter or Smokey Taupe would #1 be the cheapest solution and #2 change the aesthetic.

Revere Pewter or Smokey Taupe because that's the color of your windows. RP will pull them towards greenish - but that doesn't mean "green". Smokey Taupe will align more with the color that they are, warm and neutral. ST could flash slightly violet at dusk but it's not purple, nothing to hyperfocus on.

Okay here's the comparison from the older colors to what it looks like now. Remember, this job wasn't so much about changing the house color per se, it was really about replacing the old Masonite with new James Hardie fiber cement siding. However, new black shutters and new paint on the door were simple fixes to change things up to give it an updated look. Sure wish I could normalize the colors on both pics so the new one doesn't look so yellow and the older one doesn't look too blue. Oh well. You get the idea. June 2007: June 2009

Thank you!! I am now about 95% complete with the kitchen... It has been a lot of work, so many doors to paint. I had to stop and pack up and cleanup my mess.. family is coming to visit / stay with us! The Rug, I purchased from S&H Rugs in New Jersey... on ebay or online you can find them at 1800getarug. I purchased 2 other rugs from them, and the descriptions are fairly accurate. I also had t=2 rugs that I returned, and they were easy to deal with and promptly refunded my money.

Your house is grey so just about any color will work well. What about a yellow? Fire engine red? Even a deep pink will work. (of course the hubby may not agree. lol) Lime green. I personally would keep with a brightly colored door to give emphasis to the opening plus to keep it from being blah.

First helpful suggestion is not to do anything. Give it a month, if not a few, to see how you feel about it. Because we don't know what it looked like beforehand this could be a radical change and you're not comfortable with it yet. So don't do anything.

If you're compelled to paint it, buy sample paints, paint them on canvas from Michaels, and hang them on your house. Check the samples in the morning afternoon and evening to see how you like them. Do that for a couple weeks until you find something you like.

I call this Paint'ence. You have to give yourself time to pick the right colors, prepare to paint, paint it well, and then live with the paint until you really decide you don't like it.

I like the colors ok. I think the main thing is that the house looks a bit bare. Needs flowers, and maybe a chair or two with color. A bit of personality is what it needs.

Flowers. Start by replacing those green balls on either side of your door.
