Kitchens Design Dilemma Flooring

I need help kitchen floor

last year

i wish they Continued the wood floor in the kitchen but they didn't so I need help choosing should I do tile final floor or just start the hunt for hardwood to match

i was looking at grays but its so hard to pick and I don't think I should go darker than the cabinets
i also like a smooth floor not rough
ugh counters are quartz white
can i get help
what color - type would you do

I'd extend the hardwood. It looks like a very typical white oak floor which would be easy to match.

As much as I love dark stains, painting the cabinets may be the way to go. White, Grey, Blues are what is "in" right now but they're still nice neutral colors. My issue with this kitchen is what appear to be 30" wall cabinets and larger than life ceiling height in comparison. it makes the space seem short. lighter cabinets and maybe a darker wall color will close this gap. A horizontal backsplash will also help visually make the space longer, making it appear bigger.

I love what you've done so far! I agree that it just needs some warmth and color. We put Coretec LVP in our basement and are happy with it. I really love the Acacia pattern. It is the one I wanted, but we went with something with more greys in it (I was outvoted). But I've always loved the medium colors. Mariana, just read all the responses to your very cheerful request for input. Congratulations on your new home! I wondered if the furnishings pictured were yours or the sale pics - was guessing latter as didn’t seem to match your voice! My 2 cents is on the side of waiting & spend very little now. The change to your furnishings will be a major change. The only items I’d spend $$ on now is those 3 wildly different light fixtures! I’ve never seen a ceiling fan like that in a kitchen. I’d also change out the glass in upper cabinets. Depending on your dishes & / or your tidiness level, maybe look at glass that hides contents & has different vibe. Something like reeded or ribbed glass. Paint would also be a great backdrop for your preferred colors. That‘s all I’d spend any $$ on now. Then I’d live in the house for year or two to give you the chance to learn what works for you and what needs to change. The thought of taking on painting cabinets makes me want to hide under the covers!

The easy answer is get unfinished wood floor same species of wood you have and have it finished to match . IMO matching flooring is the right chouce in this type of layout for sure

i Think I just go to Home Depot and buy some samples and try to just bring a bunch home and see what matches this was a cheap house build 2011 so I think they did Home Depot or Costco I think I'm gonna take your advice

That looks like a laminated or engineered floor to me and not a site finished floor. I doubt very much you will match a 13 year old builder grade prefinished floor.

You need to talk to a hardwood floor person if you want to match the floor. A good company can match just about anything, but the chances of finding a match at HD is pretty slim.

If you decide to go with tile, I don't think it would be bad at all, but I see your dilemma picking one out! Definitely not the brown in your second photo. Everything you have is pretty neutral and unpatterned so you could go bold with the floor if you happen across something wonderful. Terrazzo! Talavera!

Call in a hardwood floor expert and ask if they can match it. I think I see a bevel, which could indicate engineered. One look and a hardwood pro can let you know.
