Paint Exterior Design Dilemma

Paint help needed!

This is a house we're flipping...our first. We need to landscape and give it more curb appeal. We want to paint the brick as well as the metal siding but we are not sure whether to paint them different colors or the same. Any paint color ideas? Neither one of us are great at choosing colors and being happy with it once we do.

I think the house will look better if you paint the metal siding to match the brick. Painted brick is generally frowned on here at Houzz because they feel it devalues the home. For a flip, I wouldn't do anything that might make less profit for you. Please delete your duplicate posting of this dilemma.

One of the things we learned about grays (and I'm sure whites) is that it's all about the light in the room you're painting. In our old house we painted the north facing LR BM Silver Lake (a blue undertone). It was so great we thought we'd do it in a south facing bedroom. Horrible! For the new house we must have 6 sample cans of grays, none of which are the grays we used in the old house. Take these suggestions, but be sure to paint up (large) samples in your kitchen. You'll never know until you try the colors in your lighting. If you want to do this now, it's all good. The cabinets, etc. will change, but the lighting will only change from winter sun to spring sun.

moving into recently purchased home and needing help coordinating paint colors. the challenge is we have 8 foot ceilings and not a ton of natural light (i.e. a ton of shadows). we narrowed down our wall color to Ballet White (Benjamin Moore OC-9); other contenders were Halo and Winds Breath (OC-46 and OC-24, respectively). **my question is, what BM paint will complement Ballet White to use on the bottom part of the wall (below the chair moulding)?? this moulding is used in the dining room and front entrance only. once that is figured out, what kitchen cabinet color (we like warm whites) would work well with the wall paint we selected, Ballet white?? we are staining our floors a dark color, like special walnut or something if that sort. thanks!!

Taking into consideration this is a flip, I wouldn't suggest to paint the brick. I would rather start by cleaning-up the roof, painting the windows black with white shutters, a nice black door with white shutters, and enlarge the columns and give them a detail at top and bottom. Then refresh the white siding by painting if cleaning isn't sufficient. Install a large black lantern pendant and street numbers. I would also improve the landscaping and install a walkway from the paved entrance that leads to the front door. Your house will then have a nice fresh classic look that will please any buyer. If you need to change the roof, go for a charcoal or black.

Agree with deco. The brick would be an appealing feature to me as a potential buyer. I actually like the white trim with brick, similar to this. Black would be nice for the shutters, or a dark green.

I aqree, paint the rest of the house to match the brick. Do not paint the brick.
