eld, there is a major intersection in town that's a broad 4-way stop which meets on a hill with curves. Back in the day, they used to try to guide the traffic using 'lollipops' which were round "go right" signs in the middle of the road set in a block of cement to hold them up. (They of course would regularly get run over.) We always called the intersection "the rotary". The lollipops have been gone for over 40 years replaced with lots of lane markings and signage, but townsfolk still say, "take a right at the rotary".
