I just got some wood switch plates at Home Depot and picked up some similar colors of the marble at the craft store for about .79 @ and dappled it on the wood to resemble the marble. You can experiment on a piece of cardboard to get the effect you like. I just left mine as is without a clear coat, but once it is dried you could easily brush on a clear. I just wouldn't do too glossy, so it will match the marble better.

Thanks everyone. Raehelen, yeah, all my wiring is done...just sitting there waitin for their pretty plates. Electrician (name is Danny also known as "no, I can't do that") lead me to believe I needed my backsplash in. He ain't my favorite guy. There is the problem cpang74 pointed out that I don't know how dark/light my tile might be. I thought I would just go middle of the road with the almond color switch plates as it is the best look with my cabs. And even if my tile is a bit dark, as long as the almond is not just glaring, I would be okay with it. Geeez, I'm so sick of all this. Thank you all again.

mtv20--My countertop is called Moon Night....maybe it's called Super White as well? I think our granite was calling another slab Super White, but all these names are confusing. I think they at least do look the same! I love Carrara field tiles, but I personally think it would've looked too gray overall and the backsplash would compete with the gray countertops. Do your counters have a lot of movement? If so, I think it MAY be a little busy with the Carrara, but it depends on the look you're going for.

(One more time, this time in better English… So much for a quick correct) Google "stacking light switch" use one of these much narrower electric boxes for these two switches. Move the box/switches to the outside of the backsplash. Complete the backsplash as though the switches had never been there.
