Kraftmaid Rainfall pics?

Hello! We are embarking on a kitchen reno and I like the look of the rainfall color, but have not seen many photos of it in real kitchens. Has anyone chosen this color? I worry its too gray of a green - I like color but I also assume there are reasons these colors are selected by cabinet makers. I know I can upgrade to choose my own color but I’d like to make the stock color work. Related, what would you recommend for a complementary wall color to bring out more of the green side of this shade?

Hi there, I have Kraftmaid ”rainfall” color that is relatively new.

I’m almost done with my remodel so bear with me. I will tell you it IS muted, but is NOT grey. In certain lighting it will look more muted in certain lighting vs more saturated in others… but I can always tell there is a blue with a green undertone and it is a midtone. They definitely BEG for white countertops… unless you like dark and moody. Then black would certainly go too IMO. I also think it would go nicely as an island color if you had a white cabinets otherwise.

Im just trying to decide on stained (original plan) vs white shelving (new plan) vs and wishing I planned for a different hood & squeezed a larger white wood cover into my budget somewhere. Sigh.

Thank you! That does help! I am planning on soapstone for counters, so it might end up on the moody end of things. We are doing all new lighting too, and I think that might be key to making it look 'right' in my house. The single overhead round flourescent doesn't do much for any colors in my current space! Your project looks great!

I've been reading the High Country Gardens e-zine Xeriscape Gardening for four years. It is a good read and eyeopening. It's a free signup and they don't send it too often. For near total drought, look to the species roses. My species garden sits on a clay knoll with no irrigation. Parts are so dry that grass won't grow. The roses there survive (including one of my found boursalts). Two plants to look to are Sedums and Alliums. One of my more miserable summers, garlic chives were a riot of blooms. They fill spaces, but are easily controlled. Sedums don't seem to need water. Native plants continue to surprise me. I thought my sweet autumn clematis was dead to drought. It came back, it was just taking a year off. And I do use grey water on roses; when we replumbed the house, the grey water diversion was designed (by us) into the system. Grey water works well on roses on manetti and multiflora rootstocks. No guarantees with roses on Dr. Huey.

Thanks for the encouragement re the photos, everyone. I take so many in the hopes of posting that special one that emphasizes the hosta's attributes best. It is such a hit and miss with me. So when I get lucky with the odd one here and there, and you comment on it, it makes my day! Thank you. I will keep at it. :-)

Laurie, Here is a picture of the bathroom with translucent driftwood and Taj. I can't find one right now of the island and we're actually not home. If you want one of the island, I'm more than happy to do that when we get back in a couple of days. Are you looking at Kraftmaid cabinets? I will tell you, we've had ALL kinds of issues! If I were to do this again, which we never will, I would NOT get KM! Especially from the box store we went through. UGH The finished project looks nice, but ........................................ Also, this piece of Taj in the bath is a different slab than the kitchen. It doesn't have as much gray as the kitchen. The kitchen is a nice blend of cool AND warm colors. Bobbi

Im doing the rainfall also but i paired it with a black counter (leather quartz) and black pulls my problem is backsplash my floor is a brownish linolium so im thinking a brick like background ? any suggestions no white please

That looks wonderful! We’re getting the same cabinets installed but I’m stumped on countertop quartz and matching wall paint. Would you be willing to share your choices?
