After a certain length of time, the post can't be deleted. The rendering above looks like it has two extra filled-in half-wood garage doors out front. It also has a half completed chimney in the front. Are those the impressions you want to convey? Does the roof have the appropriate slope for your snow load? The huge windows in the front will show a view, if that's the right direction. I hope you have geothermal heating or some other way to reduce the expense of heating the house with huge heat-losing windows.

Here's some information about sliding windows. In a storm the exposed track fills with water and if it doesn't drain fast enough water enters the house. I've seen it happen in a test chamber. The fact that they are cheap is not enough of a reason to put them in a house. And little burgers are known to cause indigestion. Life is not fair.

I would do the brick veneer, just make sure to offset the addition some from the original so you don't have to worry about tying it into the original construction and it won't be noticeable it is a different material. Wood frame construction and brick/brick veneer is common. Edited to add. Obviously the framing have to be tied into the existing house. What I meant was to not have a straight flat boundary where new material meets old material. If you can have it meet in a corner it will be less noticeable. So either move the addition in a little bit or out a little bit from the existing structure.

No walls or furniture next to it, and it's almost uniform in appearance, so it's a prime spot to experiment with what you have in your house already. Not to fill the tabletop, but place and rotate! :)
