I had posted this same question just a short time ago; in fact, at first I thought it was my post popping up again! I have two twin beds. I purchased the lambswool connector that goes between the two beds; it comes with a strap that surrounds and buckles around the beds. I placed a mattress cover over each bed first. Then placed the lambswool piece in the center and buckled it together. I then placed a king sized mattress cover over that. It works great and makes a wonderful king sized bed. Twin beds are actually five inches shorter than kings, but I didn't have any difficulty placing king sized sheets on the bed. I bought my "connector" on line at Comfort House. Without pictures, it's impossible to answer. My initial question is why you would want to convert to a daybed. I have a queen bed that I use as a bed and like previous posters, I can't see it functioning well as a couch or chaise which is essentially what a day bed is supposed to do - i.e. be seating during the day and then be used as a bed when needed for sleeping. In my experience, day beds are generally twin size - if a larger sleeping surface is needed, there is the kind of bed which slides out somehow.

I've had the same platform bed for at least 20 years, and with the last mattress that I bought, the height of the mattress is 26-1/2", which is higher than I would like, but it does make it easier for me to use the night stand, which is 29" high. My current mattress is 14" high, and I believe my previous one was 10" high, bringing the height down to 22-1/2", which I felt was more ideal. Benches are frequently 18" high, and they are supposed to be lower than beds, if you have one at the end of the bed.

We have an adjustable latex queen bed. It is not split. Of course dH wants his feet up, and I cannot breath unless my head is elevated. I wish we had gotten the split king, since they did not have split queens. We comprised! He got the bed; I bought a recliner and put it in the (cramped) bedroom. He can elevate his feet, and I can breathe in the recliner. I “make” the recliner just like it’s a bed, with bottom sheets, as many blankets as I need, and a colorful top “bedspread.” I can sleep warmly now! He runs “hot” and never wants more than one thin blanket on the bed. He can sleep “cold.” It’s hard for me to sit on the side of the bed. I raise the head and foot up a bit to change the sheets, too.
