Thanks for the compliments! flyleft, The base paint is (Home Depot brand) Behr Interior Satin Enamel; color is "Fall Mood" (PWL-87). It's painted on with a roller (cut in at ceiling and corners with a brush). The next day I put on the glaze coat. I had them mix the top paint to a color that was the same as the base, but 25% lighter. The paint lady recommended 50% or 75% lighter, but I wanted a really subtle effect for the powder room. Anyway, the top paint is mixed 1 part paint, with 4 parts glaze. The glaze is Behr Faux Glaze (No, 748, whatever that means). So I mixed 1 pint of top paint with 1/2 gallon of Glaze (and still had lots left over), then applied the mixture with a rag. You just get the rag wet, wring it a little and then begin pressing it, all bunched up, onto the wall. You can do harder or softer for different effects, and you can do more sparsely or more completely for different effects. I did fairly hard (since it was so light) and pretty completely. Bigger is better because of what is held below and because the space on the sides would be completely wasted otherwise. Make sure you measure your sink to get the depth of it. Of course, you could put the faucet off to the side as well if you get a wide vanity. Our vessel's faucet is off in the back "corner" (an oval sink). I did not want it in the middle because there was more room for it when it was offset. A round sink would be even more pronounced. I also like the look of it set off the center. OTOH, dh came home the day it was installed and hated it, yet does not seem to care now (a few months later). In fact, he never really mentioned it again. He was surprised/disappointed I chose that location yet usually tells me to do what I want, so he could not argue the point much since it was already done. It did not occur to him that there was any other choice but midpoint.

I like the color! What style is the rest of your home? Depending on the rest of your home, I might do something to the vanity, if not replacing. I also suggest changing the counter. If budget allows, do a pretty stone with an undermount sink with the new faucet. Most fabricators have scraps that could easily do a powder room, and discounted psf from regular slab prices. I like to buy antique/vintage mirrors for bathrooms or have mirrors made at our local frame shop. I also hang nice art. These rooms have so little in them, it is better to go outside the box and add character. For examples, here is a close up of our master bathroom mirrors (frame shop). Did you install that wallpaper? That looks like paintable wallpaper to me It looks like embossed wallpaper that was painted green. If so then I think painting it again would be no problem at all.
