Comments (8)Here's a handful of mine: BROWN VELVET IRISH CREAM O'RILLA TOM BROWN - one of the mother plants I got from Cliff SPICED COFFEE - in its lavender phase BUTTERSCOTCH CL - the rose that started me on the quest for all the oddball colored ones minis: DUSTY ROSE PENNIES FROM HEAVEN There are many others......See MoreHoney Dijon gone?
Comments (38)I just wanted to chime into say that the plant I received twice from heirloom (different years) as Spiced Coffee is IMO not the right rose. I love it! But it has never been tan- always a pink blend. I ordered SC from rogue valley two years ago and it is the right rose. Very unusual color, but not vigorous for me....See Morepicked up barons from Regan, ended up buying almost a dozen more
Comments (19)Dianela, yep it was me that admitted having 1000 roses and anyone else is welcome to use me as a lesson for their families of how much many roses they COULD have bought but didn't. I'm not alone in having a ton of roses on here, but I probably set some kind of GW record for sheer numbers of roses that die each year and (oh the horrors) HAVE to be replaced. Soooo reluctantly of course (smile). This year I'm only at 222 roses that I've ordered for spring planting, and that's about my replacement rate of roses that die over my zone 5 winters, though I'm getting smarter and planting more once-bloomers and shrubs so I might actually run out of space one of these days. Not this year though. Rockridge thanks for the offer of the pictures. I don't think my patient DH would be too thrilled about a trip to the west coast to look at someone else's roses on top of these new rose purchases too. Hey, I consider that a money-saving measure already. Aha - time to visit the new revamped High Country Roses website and spend all that money I've "saved"... Comments (44)I just remembered that I have ANOTHER Augusta Luise coming in fall from Peter @ Freedom Gardens, in addition to the new one I just planted from Palatine...and I already have 2 Carding Mill. So -- I think I will stick with the peachy ones I have and maybe grow another Munstead (which I love)...Not that you all need to know my every plan! But the ideas shared here have given me inspiration. I also have a Madam Anisette that should give me the creamy tones -- and I have a Marmalade Skies that I planted for my husband...so if they all bloom together, I could make a pretty gorgeous fall bouquet...Plus I just planted two more roses that could work well in a fall arrangement -- Polka and Mel's Heritage. Though they are so small, it will probably be a while before I get a lot. Thank you all -- again -- for your great ideas! I went out several times this weekend trying to imagine where I could fit one more rose -- just can't do it. I still have these coming: Sweet Delight, Eustacia Vye, Gabriel Oak, and Heritage. Plus I have that one more AL coming in fall. So...already I don't have room for these. What am I thinking that I could add another? The only way I'm adding another rose this year is if I finally give up on Dark Desire, Madam Anisette, and Queen of Sweden. All have been beyond slow to take off. This is year 4. If they don't deliver this year... I moved MA & DD to new locations to see if that helps....See MoreBenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14)
