Please no planter boxes unless they are black metal or corten steel not attached to the windows . What does the new door look like ? This is aMCM ranch style house do not mess with that The siding IMO needs to be a darker shade and maybe just the sealskin cut a bit. IMO the green is kind of insipid I do not think the natural cedar is a good choice with the brick. Sorry I really love MCM homes and think they need special thought to do well and the landscaping is where they shine if done right This is my fave for MCM landscaping inspiration

The Sealskin is definitely dark enough, to Patricia's point, if anything it is too dark. It has an LRV of 6 - that's about as dark as you can get. If it doesn't look quite right to you, you may have the wrong tint.

Responding to several comments: The cedar replaced some odd round columns. The planter box will be long and horizontal skinny slats with black metal angle iron exposed on the corners - tiny accent. It may not all be congruent to the MCM - but i am trying to hide the concrete porch facia. Thanks for the suggestions. Oh - if you slap a color suggestion, please tell me the code. I am running low on time.

Very pretty door. Are any of the colors on the house changing? Need to know that before can suggest a color. I always like turquoise for a color on an mcm door. Orange is a nice color too. Many like yellow, but, honestly, I dont much like yellow anything. I am looking at the concrete threshold part below the door, and it could use a coat of darker paint. Make sure you do the proper prep work for it, and use the proper type of paint. I hesitated even mentioning it, because, I have 3 of them, here that need to also be painted. They look much like yours, and I havent had time to do them yet either.

Good question - the house is painted recently - some white windows going in - cedar needs a stain. The threshold is terrazo tile - very beautiful and it goes into the entry. Thanks!

I love the door! Right now it looks pretty good white. Can you show us a pic farther back? (Like the first pic you posted?)

I can't tell you the color name I used in my mockup because I did it in photoshop. I suggest dusty turquoise or sage, which will compliment red/orange. Don't go too saturated, it would be too bold next to those bricks.

Maybe Drizzle, Vintage Vessel or Composed (below)? You're in a rush, but don't rush too much. You will still want to paint big samples. You may love a color in the store or online and find that you hate it in the actual surroundings.

The complimentary color of orange is blue. Since your home has orange tones, a blue door would stand out.

Ok, so it's a little bit difficult to match the color exactly in photoshop, but here is an approximation. Honestly, I think the darkest blue you have there is a little too light.

Im not following the planter boxes? why do you need those when you can have a great drought tolerant landscape here? Paint the door last. I think you need to see it a bit more complete.

They were put in there digitally - the boxes will look nice - MCM type. There will be plenty of good landscaping added. I have some run -off issues to consider and dont want to mulch that area where the planters are. It will get in my gray rock. Stay tuned and thank you!

I agree with painting the door last is ideal, but sometimes you get opportunities with a sub-contractor, you don't want to wait and get him to come back. I can paint a door, but not as good as he can (spraying). Learning the proper order for construction projects sound good on paper, but due to our labor demand, you really have to adapt.
