If you will be able to lay in bed and look out the master bedroom door into the living room, you may want to post the entire design to get some constructive advice, which may effect the master bathroom.

This is set up to be a hallway with a reach in closet on each side and the bathroom at the end of the hallway. tight for sure

Doc, Thanks! that is a layout I had considered. My husband thinks hallways are ”wasted space” though sometimes necessary. I also looked at possibly walking though the bathroom to get to the closet. That seems to be a common layout on many plans, though not my ideal set up.

My problem with this would be that you lose all of that valuable exterior corner space for windows to the closet.

@Mark Bischak, Architect Thank you for drawing out what I had in mind but had neither the time, nor the artistic ability to draw. My ability to freehand drawing ability rivals that of the C students in 3rd grade art class. :)

There's nothing inherently wrong with walking thru a bath to get to a closet, but putting a closet in an exterior corner is a terrible idea in terms of wasting the opportunity for natural light and cross ventilation. Either of Mark's sketches works, but the one on the left is a much more efficient use of space.
