Please Identify This Succulent

westes Zone 9b California SF Bay
last year

This was sold to me as a Lewisia "Bitterroot" and it is certainly not the long and narrow leave I associate with that genus. What is this succulent?

    Also remove the plant's own dead shrivelled leaves and any other organic debris that might hold moisture. And/or put a transparent roof over it during the rainy season.
