Sujafr, I can understand why you would get that impression and I wish it was just that easy. There are aspects of the wall units that I do like though in particular, the lighting, and the "extension" of the width of the bed. I do not like the bulkiness though at all. In fact, we need little/no storage of any kind since most everything now is in our closet. On another post Geokid gave me the idea to use IKEA's malm furniture. At first I rejected the idea because of the lack of quality. When I went out shopping though at Scandanavian Design, most of what I liked didn't have that much better qualilty. With using additional pieces at IKEA I open up options. The nightstands at IKEA are VERY small (16" wide), so I thought if I did one of the smaller dressers that would possibly work. After starting this thread, I could see that the 3 drawer instead of the 4 drawer would possibly work out. Anyway here's the inspiration. ajc9: I like the look of your bedroom set as well, but I agree that the night stands are a little boxy and "immature" looking, if you get my drift. They look like sturdy stuff for a kid's room. I also think that you can stay with straight lines similar to your other pieces, just not those night stands. Like I said, I like my round ones, but they match my bed, which is a little more contemporary than yours. If that line of furniture doesn't have other options you could use for night stands, you'll have to look elsewhere -- a nuisance, but you might find just the thing. My choice would be painted pieces; but metal could work.

From your name, wearybuilder, you're probably still in the overwhelmed stage of home building - but once you're in and settled, if you have the room, consider changing one or both of your bedside tables - it adds a certain panache to the room that was both functional and stylish. They need not match, but similar height and a common feel is nice! In that instance? The bedside LAMPS should definitely match. Much depends on what else is in the room. An upholstered bed, a dresser and one side table that matches it. A PAIR of matched lamps, and a different material for a single side table. That can work. .....metal base and stone top, or glass top etc. Location matters, you want balance. An upholstered bed and three pieces match. Okay .............no more match than that , and NOT bulky, please AVOID. " I got all of it in one swoop, one truck, and have two dressers, two night stands, the big brown bed......and NOW WHAT?!" In this instance, prayer is good.....: ( Here? In all instances, sides and lamps match.........nothing else does.
