Check vent in fuel cap. New fuel filter. Make sure seat switch is fully plugged in and adjusted to insure good plunger travel. Another possibility is the fuel pump is weak. A restricted filter or weak pump may result in enough fuel flow when NOT under load, but allow the carb bowl to slowly run out of fuel when under load. You might also check the quality of spark with a cold engine and again when the problem occurs. You may have a heat sensitive coil(s). IF so, cleaning the cooling fins might make a difference. oh....that was simple. removed retaining ring and broken teeth gear came right off. Now just need to find the part #. The model on the mower is actually 40530x83a

I am not sure how you tested the items mentioned. The multi meter is a great tool to help troubleshoot. One thought is a bad ground. In this event, the anti after fire solenoid will lose electrical power and shut off the engine. During the starting attempt, the starter will not receive full power. Check the battery ground cable connection to the frame. Also check the engine mount bolts. The previous suggestion applies. This is related to a failed engine that is locked up.
