I'm almost ready to put the binding on! I used my little machine and did a zig zag stitch in the blue thread around the pooh and friends blocks. Then I did a line down the outside around the red... Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas, and the compliments! Lisa

Your quilt is beautiful. I like your quilting too. It's always nice to finish a project especially a big one. I keep a quilt diary showing what I accomplish each day and it's always a thrill to write "IT'S FINISHED!!" TFS. ~Geraldine

Hi All, Thanks for the compliments. I apologize for the small pix, I'm still learning abt pix stuff & hadn't realized they'd show so small. I've also been sent pix in larger sized file but have been unable to post them yet. Particularly a shame to not see it large enough for me to discuss the QAYG aspects, 'cause that is what makes it reversible & quilts the layers together all at the same time. It's really a remarkable technique! Thanks, Biwako for articulating the specifics of what you liked, it's helpful. That thin orange strip conceals the bones of the construction, that's where the black borders are joined to the multi-colored panels (front view). The back view clearly shows the 12 separate blocks of color, each is (the back of) one of the panels which were separately quilted then joined together; that muticolored grid on the back conceals the joining of the panels on the back, the green strips conceal (on back) the joining of the striped borders (they're the back side of the front's orange strips). Is that clear as mud now? Will work on bigger pix, thanks everybody for the encouragement. Should I get in the show, it'll be my first show (exhibiting in NYC, woo-hooo)) & I'm hoping the first of many more to come.

When I came to the crooked corners, I just kind of guessed at it. The rest of it worked well. I decided it was fine and went on down the road. I couldn't change it, so I might as well be happy with it. And I am. For my first quilt, I'm really pleased. Of course, there are several mistakes. On some, I was too far down the road to fix them. On others, I was tired of Mr. Seamripper. I learned a lot about cutting accurately (I also bought an Accuquilt.) and how much a small mistake gets bigger. Same with 1/4" seams. I've tried two different feet, the old thing you screw into the bed of machine (I'm into vintage machines) and painters tape. I bought a laser at Harbor Freight last week, but haven't figured out how to put it on the machine. So, all and all, my sewing and cutting skills are improving. Still lots of room left, though. bkay
