Comments (3)Go to kitchen forum, but I would not recommend Merillat! Yes, they are made in Michigan, but I think you can do better in the same price range. We went with Brookhaven over Merillat....See MoreMerillat Cabinets
Comments (11)My Merillat cabinets fell off the wall. Literally. Our house was built in 1999. We bought it and moved in August 2009 (after previous owner). In June 2010, while outside with my dogs I heard a huge crash. Went inside and 95" of wall cabinets were on the floor mangled, the contents all smashed. The backs of the cabinets were still on the wall (tightly fastened). The boxes of the cabinets separated from the backs and came crashing down. I contacted Merillat. The cabinets were, of course, out of warranty. They offered to replace the 4 cabinets that fell (I'm not sure with what, since they didn't make that design any longer), but they wouldn't install - just give us 4 new wall cabinets. My insurance company offered to replace our entire kitchen (since matching cabinets couldn't be purchased, and our hardwood floors were damaged by the falling cabinets). Needless to say, we went with the insurance company replacement and did not replace with Merillat....See MoreLooking for feedback on Merillat cabinets
Comments (8)We have quite of bit of info on this topic as we researched Merillat Classic, Merilatt Masterpiece, and Kraftmaid. They are all made by the same company - Masco Corp. Classic is a decent mid-level line. We really liked the Classic Labelle door style, but the Classic line is limited in its cabinet sizes and features. However, you could probably do a decent kitchen in standard cab sizes in the Classic line. (I recall seeing a nice kitchen in this forum done in the Classic Labelle, Ebony Mist, with Cappuccino zodiac counters - Looked great! Can't remember whose it was though.) Just be sure to upgrade to the "deluxe" construction with dovetailed drawers and undermount glides. We then realized we would be better served using the Masterpiece line for more options in cab sizes, better drawer pullouts, solid wood super susan, etc. The Merillat website was both the Classic and MP specifications books that you can download in pdf. The Classic is about 150 pages and the MP book is 350, so you can tell they offer more in MP. Once we got familiar with MP, we realized Kraftmaid was VERY similar to the MP. The stain options are all the same and I think all the cabinet specs are the same. In fact we think the Labelle door we liked in the Classic line is actually the same as the KM Lennox Court door sold exclusively at Home Depot. Lowe's has a door that is very similar except for slight difference in edge detail called Kensington. We are currently leaning towards the Lennox Court bc that's the door we prefer, but had a bad experience when we ordered a bath vanity from Home Depot before. We are hoping it was limited to that particular store......See MoreMerillat cabinets
Comments (13)I'm just installing Fusion Maple in Sedona (the dark stain) right now. The picture isn't great - it is at night and I probably moved, but hopefully you can get an idea of the color. We originally were going with Maple Natural and ended up with Sedona. But, we love the look thus far, warms up the space for us - and matches some of our other furniture. I am so far happy with the looks of the cabinets......See MoreFloored You: TileDesigners
