Heavenly Pink - Cliff made this one sound charming to me and I like the idea of it mounding with tons of flowers on it in my front yard. â¨Mme Joseph Bonnaire I think this rose just looks gorgeous gorgeous. I'm on a big lush intense pink kick lately. We'll see which of the few I've ordered this year end up being my favorite with that sort of look. â¨Duftendes Weisskirchen really liked the dark pink color, the bloom shape, and that it's a small plant. I was looking for some smaller roses to go near the front of my borders. â¨Compassionate Friend I like that it's by Harkness, as I don't have any from him and I have a bit of partiality to the name. I also though the rose color was charming, and again it's a small rose. â¨3. Did you specifically buy roses suited to your climate zone/region? also "researching" Yes, I always try to research as well as possible if they will do well in my hot/dry climate. Cliff answered my questions well and I'm willing to experiment some, too. I tend to ask the rose seller if they have advice, and I also search this forum as well as helpmefind.com. I especially like to see photos and comments by people with a similar climate as me. Sometimes I'll ask someone specifically about the roses on my list. 5. How many roses have you ordered this year? I bought 40+ roses this year. (eek!) I ordered from eurodesert, antique rose emporium, roguevalleyroses.com, .vintagegardens.com, rosesunlimitedownroot.com, davidaustinroses.com, longagoroses.com â¨6. If you bought other flowers/plants besides roses, please share the names and sources. I also bought daffodils, blood lily, bletilla triata, nerine bowdenii, crocus, freesia, amarcrinum crinodonna from http://www.brentandbeckysbulbs.com/ ... and I bought some spuria iris from http://www.wildwoodgardens.net/spuria.htm ... and some reblooming bearded iris from some place I can't remember. We just moved to this home and there was nothing but bare dirt, so that's my excuse for buying so much in the same year.

So it’s Spring here in my Michigan Zone 6b garden and I’ve been reading this thread about this stunning Amazing Grace rose. I grew this rose a a few years ago and was one who provided a review on Heirloom. I have been seriously pining after this rose since removing it due to black spot. I just ordered two more from Heirloom to give it another go. I see couple of you are from Murrieta where my mother had an abundance of roses surrounding a full concrete patio and they loved the heat and had no disease…can’t say that for Michigan. Wish me luck!!

Puttering & pondering led to another 6 roses joining the party soon to be arriving from RU. Happened upon a sheaf of papers (with notes & diagrams!) drawn up in a flush of Rose Fever during the long night depths of Winter. (The imaginary beauty of gardens rich with bloom becomes so vivid for me at that time of year when deprivation from daily garden wonders becomes most acute). Found my January self reminding my June self to Follow the Plan. Usually tell my dear husband "of course there's a plan", but admit to you I suffer from periodic amnesia regarding the specifics & tend to be easily distracted once garden centers & planting season open. Good thing I left myself a record of creative concentration to snap perspective back in focus! So pairs of Soul Sisters & Summer Suns added according to Plan. Also from those deliberations, Heirloom's Louise Clements arrived early in May from a sale. Transplanted to a 3-gallon pot, she's doubled in size to a graceful 2.5 x 2.5'. Pinched off all but one identifying bud & she's already swelling a dozen more, the first of which opened last week. From the sale list, chose her twin & another long time favorite, Sunsprite. "Double your pleasure double your fun!" Definitely seeing double this year. That tallies up to 20 in all, evenly divided between regular & sale prices. Largest order from one source at one time in many years, although it did evolve over several months. Here's hoping our selections each & all arrive safely & thrive in our gardens! Sue

There is huge sale listing of also new roses at www.menagerieflower.com try to browse over there pretty soon before their listing of this years rarest of theJalbert roses before they are sold out. They are both of are "Beverly Ann Clay Rose, and Gold and Great Rose", Plus, other favorites like singing in the rain if anymore is interested in anymore of these varieties of this collection". I managed to get the "Beverly Ann Clay Rose, and Gold and Great Rose" as a grafted. Because the own roots are already sold out within a few minute. Good griefs. I did not realize that rose shopping online was going to be this overly competitive. I saw these roses from that one lady show of the Rose geek I think a while ago. I had been keeping me eyes wide open out for these two for a while now. LOL. Just do go overboard with the shopaholic rose addictions. Good lucky to everyone.
