How would you finish these stair steps in order to keep them ?

In the below picture you can see the stairs, the posts and the rails that I need to replace.

The main floor will get new engineered hardwood and it will be raised 3/4" so the top of the three steps stair will be higher.

This will force us to either raise the steps (by installing hardwood floor on them) or shim them from below to raise them. The first solution seem to be simpler but requires a lot of work

We are going with that also because it will be impossible to match that read oak with the white oak we are getting for the hardwood floor

If you have any idea on how this could be done better (mix or match finishes and colors) so we can keep the existing steps please share it.

And here is the finish for the white oak engineered hardwood we are getting
