Black fig?
Comments (7)BTW, my other half thinks that black figs only are the real figs and the others are mutation losing pigmentation during their journey through time. I have to agree if I have to store my dormant figs in the basement cold store during the winter....See MoreFig Hill Fig Slope with pictures
Comments (9)Hi Dennis, thanks so much for sharing those picture i enjoy them a great deal. I really like how you have plants arranged in greenhouse and have seen pictures of the structure you have posted before its very nice looking. I think you fig row and fig hill is terrific and you have a nice assortment of fig plants. Here for you to compare the leaf is a Ronde De Bordeaux in its first season unfortunately it did not make it through dormancy but i replaced it with another that Ronde De Bodeaux and will be same size later this season as my other last year. I show 3 pictures of when plant for leaf shape as it changes to give you idea. This plant young in July last season Same plant 2 months later leaf gets more defined Close up of the leaf on the Ronde pictured from above, grant it the tree was in first season but this was the leaf that was very dominant at the time picture was taken and is much more defined than the leaves in very first picture. Hope this helps you somewhat . Martin...See MorePictures....which LR cabinet for a Tuscan Feel
Comments (3)They are both very nice cabinets, but honestly, imo neither one has any Tuscan feel at all. They are much more traditional, perhaps Shaker influence. Tuscan would be more of a distressed finish, and not black, but wood tone. Perhaps a little more bulky, not such refined lines. But I wouldn't worry about that. If you love the cabinet and it works with your other furniture, then go for it. Nothing that says you can't mix things up a bit!...See MoreFig leaves turning black and have white areas.
Comments (6)Thanks everyone for the helpful tips. I just moved into this house and never had a fig (or really any fruit trees) before, so I wasn't sure what to expect when leaves start turning black. Regarding the comment about the hard water damage - this area does have hard water but wouldn't something like that that affect all plants? There is another fig in the garden a few feet away that didn't get it. Also other fruit trees in my garden were not showing the same symptoms - their leaves just turn yellow and fall off like I would expect a deciduous tree to do. Anyway to be safe, I removed the affected leaves and discarded them. Hoping next spring it will come back to life....See Morebluemoonlight
