how to choose a new garage door opener

We think we need to replace our glitchy garage door opener but have no idea where to start. It's just a double door on a residential garage. Nothing fancy. Is there a reliable brand or some feature to look for? We don't need any bells and whistles, just quiet and reliable and doesn't break the bank.

I saw these listed on a web site. Is there a good one on here ?

Love our liftmaster. Its never had any issues and gets used a lot and our door is on the heavier side.

I went with a LiftMaster shaft drive. Very pleased because it’s quiet for bedrooms above and opens space mid garage. This model has a security deadbolt when the door is closed, battery backup in event of power failure and is smartphone operable to check if closed or operate remotely.

sorry to be confusing--the first door opener quit working after I replaced the battery. I had a second opener which also quit after replacing the battery. I now have two openers that no longer work. If your theory is correct, can you advise how to fix it? Thank you!

On the rear of the motor unit just to the left of all those white wires is a small LED. Check to see if it is flashing. Random flashing is normal but rapid flashing indicates interference. If it is flashing rapidly when the light is on remove the bulb and see if it stops. You may have a bad logic board causing these problems.
