Question, hope someone can enlighten me!

I tried to post this earlier, but I don't see it now. Hopefully, I'm not duplicating! This spring, we had a BAD hail storm and almost all of my Sans were decimated. So I've whacked them back to the soil and some have popped pups and some haven't. I have a Sansevieria patens that I finally just whacked and in the process, I found two little pups under it! YAY... but they look SO different! The patens has nice ridges on the back of the leaves:
But the new pups...
...smooth as can be, wider flatter leaves. Can I expect the leaves to thicken and develop the ridges, or is there some reason the pups will not be the same as the "mother" plant?
