Living Room design
ImI’m having a really hard time with my living room layout. I don't know what to do with the empty space next to the couch, what window treatments to do above the couch, and how to make the whole room cohesive. I am a first time homeowner, and a underpaid nurse at that. That being said, I also apologize for the mess.
So any and all advice is appreciated!

Comments (9)Chairs on the sides of front door feel awkward and won’t provide conducive seating. Can the sectional be moved down closer to doorway and suggest an l-shaped sectional to accommodate more seating and help balance that wall. Like below but sectional’s short side at other end. Think an occasional chair (swivel for viewing tv, as it would be on opposite corner). Maybe in the bottom left corner in your diagram, a narrow cabinet could be added for jackets and to help balance, add large art on other side of the narrow window. Layed lighting is done best with a lighting expert I happen to love arc lamps so always have one somehwer ein my LR you need ceiling lighting fo overall light those on dimmers , then table lamps and floor lamps and that applies to outdoor spaces too just a bit differnt wya to do this . Comments (1)There is too little info to help. We need a to scale floor plan I find it easier to do those plans on graph paper. Show every window , doorway and where those doorways lead . Every measurement clearly marked post her ein jpeg format Info as to how manty seats on a day to day basis do you need, we do need to know if a TV will be there .Is your style. last yearIt looks like you might be able to move the sectional to in front of the window and move the TV to the wall to the right of where the sectional currently is. If this doesn't work measurement wise you might be able to center the sectional on the current wall. We also might recommend taking down the objects on the walls around the sectional. Here are a few designs from our portfolio which might help you more.
