Hello Tealgarden, I have a couple of Wax Jambus too and I wouldn't worry about what you are seeing. I would say it is either from transplant shock or the cold weather. Both of mine are like 4'-5' feet tall and lose almost all their leaves each year due to the cold. The turn brown, get that same dried up look and spotting, and then fall off. However, they are extremely resilient plants, probably the most resilient plants I have and always bounce back every spring with more leaves, flowers, and fruit than the year before. I think your plants are just fine and will bounce back. Keep them out of full sun for the time being while they are recovering/adjusting. You should see tons of new leaves within the next couple of weeks as the weather warms. - Jacob

I took two air-layered cuttings about 1.5 month ago. One with barely any root development, the other with roots running around 2" -I managed to break some of them with poor handling as well. Planted both in 5-gallon pots using kellogg patio plus and left outside in full sun from day one. They were ravaged by santa ana wind several days after & reduced to just twigs. But I kept on watering it thoroughly every other day until now. They're both showing new growth, though the cutting with better developed roots growing much faster. If the root ball look healthy, it should be fine. Just give it time to recover. If the stems are still green, it's still good. Heck, some branch tips on mine are completely brown & dried two weeks in but the rest of the plant survived. They're pretty hardy so no need to stress. Tim

Red Sea me funny how you mention Exotica nursery since that's where I got mine. Great place to visit and I enjoyed the fruit tasting table. I guess they're the only ones who have the white form available. I thought Panama Cherry, Latires, Jamaican Cherry, Muntingia and Strawberry tree were all interchangeable so I'm not sure. No prob about a trade. Just send me a PM. I did take a pic of my airlayer set up: I probably could of used a larger ball of peatmoss but it should be okay. Every now and then I use a syringe and inject more water in the mass to keep it moist.
