Front door and shutter suggestions please
Comments (6)here are a few suggestions she can work on to update the house. a deep peacock blue or teal would look nice. a blue/black door might disappear. This blue might be nice. and have her redo her numbers on a wood plaque or something. those lights way above the door,,,,need to go. see if they can be installed further down, or, get a nice hanging light See this one? Also notice the addition of the stone work to the lower half and around the door. The shutters on her house really don't work. I'd remove them and do some nice window trim around all of the windows. This upgraded version is very nice. Notice the trim work around the windows instead of the mis-sized shutters. also notice one large light over the door. if she moves her numbers to the siding portion, she could install a large sconce over the door. another similar house, where they removed the shutters. notice the landscaping too. see how these porch lights are on the side? in any case, those that she has should be replaced. they're too small and rather homely. this one is kind of bland, but I wanted to show you the darker siding color. At least your daughter has the upgraded window above the door. and if she really wants to upgrade this house, tell her save and this can be the goal....See MoreAny suggestions for a color we should paint our front doors?

Comments (18)We can all make guesses, but it’s impossible to give the best suggestions with this small photo. Can you take a better pic of the door and brick? Is the trim staying the same? What color is your garage door? Does the door get much sun during the day? It looks like you’re in Texas or another southern state. If it’s in the budget, I think wood stained doors look very nice with what I see of the brick and this style house....See MoreFront door color suggestions
Comments (12)The dark stones look like a medium dark gray color. The rock bottom does look like it might work for your door. You could get a sample and try it, before doing anything to the door. The color the door is now, is in the stone too, but, I do agree with your husband, I would have to repaint it....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
