Looking for an island vent hood with an asymmetrical chimney.
Comments (20)Please note that in some of these photos, what you are seeing are hoods that are borderline "poser" hoods. In order to have uniform flow rate across the filter, the space above the filter has to be free flowing, or the filter has to be very restrictive and the blower has to be rated at a CFM far above the actual flow rate needed for capture and containment. Instead, internal design should be closer to that of the "camouflage" hood image presented earlier than the very thin height units that look nice and less obtrusive in the latter images. If, for some reason, I wanted the uncommon interface requirements that the OP wants, I'd have ModernAire build a unit to fit those requirements, or determine that I could modify an off-the-shelf hood appropriately. There is no free lunch in this appliance space. You can, at best, attain two out of three of affordability, performance, and aesthetics....See MoreHow can I make this bathroom more inviting?
Comments (17)@NorwoodArchitects makes a great point about lighting, and the actual bulbs, etc. Also, what type of light fixtures do you have? Cannot see them in pics and that is a big part of room design, a major element. I also agree with Karen Mikolainis, above. Bringing in color in towels and accessories is a great way to do it, and a small plant on vanity, maybe a succulent plant, could lend a nice organic feel. You could also go the ‘spa’ route with plush white towels, and just have your color in art, for example. Many ways you can go. I don’t know if these are your style, but I think they are fun - soap dispensers....See Morehow can I make this dining room more inviting?
Comments (91)Read through all the posts and not wild about the size of the rug you bought. I liked the first one suggested with the blues, look for something similar. Here is my possibly radical suggestion. That corner unit draws your eye away from everything. Consider taking the door off, use spackle and touch up paint to hide the hinge holes. Then either DIY or hire someone to come in and cut off that curved top. It would be awesome if that curved top was act nailed on and easier to remove. then touch up paint anything that needs it. If you must need a door, take it to see if you can get the panes removed and a whole piece of glass replaced. And lastly, when you decided on the rug and curtains, paint the inside of the corner unit walls one of the accent color. or the same as the chest. Leave the outside of it the current color. I think the changes to that built in corner unit could go a long way with changing the look in the room. And for sure a different light fixture!...See MoreHow can I modernize the exterior look of this home?
Comments (2)It's tough to see around the cars...but other than removing the shutters and a better paint scheme it's a fabulous looking home. Love the brick and railings. They looks so substantial. I am not a fan of white for a house? Is it a duplex? Are both doors on the porch necessary? I guess that would explain why the front yard is a parking lot. Bummer...See Moredeborahmill
