Brace yourself . . . They've arrived
Comments (12)Sorry for the delay in responding everyone . . . been a long week :( Like I said, I did manage to get all of them potted up last Thursday, but by the time I was done it was dark so I couldnâÂÂt take a picture that night. But I surely did yesterday. :p Here are the ones that fit in 1 gallon or smaller And then the BIGUMZ in 2 gallons. Empress Wu, Grand Canyon, and Sagae all went into 2.5 gallon. NOT complaining :p DonâÂÂt mind Wolverine on the end of the wall there . . . ran out of room on the ground. Mocc - indeed you are the Godmother to Smooth Sailing. It was (once again) your pictures that landed it on my list. I wish I had a fancy-schmancy time lapse camera. But I enjoy the 2-3 day intervals I have been keeping up with recently. There is enough change that each picture is still unique. I like to set them in a separate folder and then scroll through fast to give the effect of a slow motion movie, or something like that. :p The things we do to amuse ourselves. Leafwatcher - Spill it . . . which 7 do we share ? IâÂÂm curious what you chose for your garden. Babka - you caught that play on words âÂÂeh ? CanâÂÂt get nothing by you. :p Don - I couldnâÂÂt agree more, Devon Green us so underrated. It was one of the first on my list. I love everything about it. Overall size, leaf/mound shape, good genes, nice substance, and that color. Delicious ! Gesila - How lucky you are to live within a reasonable driving distance of Hallson. IâÂÂd have no paycheck if I lived that close. Cher - It was a lot to pot up at once, but since they come bare root I didnâÂÂt want to mess around and dawdle. I actually left work an hour early that day and still ended up finishing when it was dark. I think it was Babka that said âÂÂa labor of loveâÂÂ. Jon - Obsession is such a strong word :( MadPlanter - How wonderful that your little guy is blooming. I have to wait until Jan/Feb to see mine again. I have a handful that do end up blooming in the summer, but they are sporadic and usually donâÂÂt last long in the heat. IâÂÂm going to try bringing them into the air conditioning this year to see if that doesnâÂÂt help prolong the blooms. Connie - Ohhhh I never said I had a place to put them all :p Thanks again everyone for looking. :) Ludi...See Moreasko - oh ya! or oh no!
Comments (12)Sorry to get off topic a bit...Question for you Asko owners: I just had my new "distributor model" Asko installed today. I wasn't there (spouse was) and the plumber connected it to the hot water line. My previous Asko was connected to the cold with no problems. I am concerned about etching. The manual says you can use either a hot or cold hook-up, but if the incoming water is at 120, that temp is already above what the china/delicate cycle is supposed to be at. On a couple of Miele threads, it was about 50/50 whether to use hot or cold. Any thoughts? I'm on a well and have softened water which is fairly high in Silica (which in itself isn't too kind to glassware, or stainless, or.....) Otherwise, my wood paneled integrated door was all nice and balanced and the installer set it in place and THEN put on the handle. Well, the handle was apparently enough to whack it out of balance; when I went and opened it after he had left, BAM, door went right for the floor. My spouse later told me that the installer was going to take it back out and re-balance, but he(spouse) said it would be fine. (I don't think so.) So I am now left with a door that will fall if not held (installer/spousal issue) and hot water(plumber and come to think of it, also a spousal issue). Still haven't used it. Tonight will be the first. Racks do seem more flimsy than my previously owned "Model-T" Asko....See MoreOh where does your garbage go?
Comments (21)dlm2000 What a bunch of wussy raccoons you've got there! Writing from just north of Raccoon City*, unless you've got your mandatory Green Bin jerry-rigged with a padlock (or Semtex) nothing edible or even smelling edible is safe from their adorable paws. Certainly no mere bungee cord will do the job. I swore one night someone was trying to smash their way into our home. Turned out it was Ricky and friends throwing the bins repeatedly at the garage walls to open them. Now, everything is double plastic bagged and relatively safe in the garage. *"[Resident Evil] was shot in Ontario, Canada, with Toronto and its surrounding suburbs being a stand-in for Raccoon City. Toronto City Hall and Exhibition Place (namely the National Trade Centre) were used as Umbrella's worldwide headquarters, while the logos of Canada's largest banks feature prominently in the skyline shots of the city, and the Prince Edward Viaduct was used to represent Ravens' Gate. Comments (24)Creeky, I've agonized over paint colors for ages. I'd already chosen a deep grey blue (SW Distance) for the dining room and master bedroom, and have a lot of grey in the house -- SW Evening Shadow is my main neutral and grey repeats in the kitchen glaze and the charcoal island. I worried that the house would look too cold and stark, but we have a lot of very bright contemporary artwork and tend to use a lot of bright accesssories so I think it will all work. I think the art will look great against the grey. After much deliberation we chose SW Extra White for the trim -- right out of the can. We just loved how crisp and bright it looked with all the blues and greys, and it set off the yellow of my office and the sunroom beautifully. The tinted primer is on the walls, but the final color and the trim isn't painted yet -- but I think we'll like it....See Morepalimpsest
