I haven't tried it but I've been plastic wrapping my tubers for many years with great success. Recently I've also wrapped some in aluminum foil with with similar results. Sealing them with the sticky wrap may not be the best idea since gases which form during storage should have an avenue of escape. One of my dahlia buddies tried vacuum sealing one year and lost them all to rot. Let us know how you make out.

I'd think that, even if it's a nonvented, conditioned crawlspace, it'd probably be smart to insulate your ductwork. If it's a standard, vented crawl, doubly or triply so. Just don't do that without first making sure that every possible seam is sealed with foil tape (only if really clean), mastic, or butyl-backed foil tape. That's joints, seams along straight sections, and even the adjustable/miter joints of fittings. And make sure that the boots at the outlets are sealed to the drywall/whatever with caulk, foam, or tape, as appropriate (I like foam b/c it's wicked sticky).

I can't speak for others, but aluminum wrapping (much like vinyl windows and siding) gets a bad rap (pun intended ;)) due to how prevalent it is and its relatively low cost. There are a lot of hacks out there that do poor work and will actually direct water into the window opening rather than shed it away. A proper wrap job will 1) remove any rotted/soft wood prior to wrapping, and 2) be flashed/lapped in such a way that will not retain moisture, while accomplishing the goal of reducing maintenance. All that said, some people prefer the richer look of wood brickmold or cedar trim, and will sacrifice the fact that it needs a bit more attention and often comes with a higher cost if it is being replaced. There is nothing wrong with that option either, just depends on your goals for the project. To say that either method when executed properly is "junk", is just plain wrong.

Wow, had not heard of this before. Have you considered refacing instead which is new doors and drawer fronts? That would give you a longer life for the wearability.
