Walls and flooring help set the tone of the room. Choosing a rug for the current wall color limits you a bit. What about the other spaces connected to LR to create harmony. Purchasing a rug with colors and pattern that you absolutely love is important, however think of your rug as anchoring the room to get that wow factor.

Other colours that might work: peachy-pinks, blush, soft yellows and amber, greens, purple, aqua and teal. Love Lil's idea of trying out colours with clothing first. It's a great way to test out colours in a room. I like the idea of a gallery wall but they can be iffy to pull off and get expensive (depending on frames and prints, etc.). Sometimes, it's just easier to fall in love with a big piece of art and be done with it.

Green is my favourite color. I was thinking of that. its hard to find a nice green quality rug in a good price range. will mixing navy and green be too much in terms of accessories? I saw some photos online where they have grey rug just in different shade with grey sofa and green cushions and gold accessories. Is that gonna be too dull?

You need 9 x 12 in a rug or you shrinnk the space. and some ART on the walls. Ice gray walls and ice gray sofa are generally cool, not cozy: ) Unless you select an accent color you like. ? Add a cocktail and pull some COLOR into the space I'd like crisp white on the wall , frankly.
