I'm wondering if you'd even notice it. I just a patio french door put in, going from the patio into my condo and we use that as our entrance and to be honest I never even give the threshold a second thought.

To me it feels too larger and out of place between two rooms.

Is it installed? Can we see?

you could always make a threshold out of marble, limestone, basalt, etc.

I did a marble one (diff heights here) between my wood/bathroom door

It's still in the garage but should be installed soon. I'll post a picture when it is. This isn't a transition between floors. It's the metal threshold built into the door to step down.

My last new exterior door had options for thresholds and I chose a black one. Since your door is already on site, probably too late for that, so as Beth suggested, paint it with a metal paint. Or if it has options that can be interchanged at this point, see what is available before you intall.

I wasn't given any options. The matte color is interesting. How has it held up to the walking and stepping on it? Both floors are on the light side.

you may be able to find one in that color. if not, use a matte spray in an ORB or black and then coat it w/an oil base top coat meant for floors. it should protect it.

You should have ordered it in black but you didn’t know to ask. If this is between rooms I would completely remove the metal threshold, install the unit sans threshold, and mill a wood one after that seals good enough.

Is the need for an exterior door a requirement to make it a fire rated door? If so, check to make sure changing to a wood threshold will not impact the fire rating and therefore your insurance coverage should a fire occur. Installing a wood threshold is the best option if it's available.

My black threshold was painted at the factory so it's held up well over the past 4 years. If you paint a metal one on site, any wear can be repainted. Since it's going from hardwood to carpet, you may want to paint it a color that blends with both, doesn't have to be black.

It wasn't specifically meant as a fire door. Since the central heat doesn't extend to the sunroom, it needs to seal for those very cold winter days when we close it off. Removing the metal is an option but may be very pricey if it's a big job. Painting is a definite possibility. My finish carpenter is very talented. We are talking about creating a full step to make it look better.

IMO replace it with a wood one if there is not fire code but IMO the one you got with the door will probably also work better to keep the cold out so paint would be my choice
