Uba Tuba Girl Chooses Backsplash - Love it, now needs paint color
Comments (9)Wow! That looks great! You did good as they say down here in the Deep South. Your cabinets are beautiful and the granite and backsplash look great with them. My house is similar in that it is very open. A mixed blessing when it comes to paint. I had wallpaper up in the kitchen when we first moved in and thought it looked weird to have a wallpapered room hanging off the rest of the space. I repainted it several colors trying for the perfect one that would go with cabinets and the rest of the house. You can see everything in my house when you come in the front door, not sure if yours is that way. Eventually I went with a color that is very similar to the colors in the open areas of the house. After all my experimentation it looked the best. I have SW Plantation beige (an old Duron color) in the open spaces and then BM Danville Tan in the kitchen. Danville Tan is a good color to go with what you have but I am afraid that it is similar to your backsplash tile. Good luck!...See MoreNeed Pink(Rose)-Gray color for little girls victorian room
Comments (5)Thanks for the replies so far. I looked these up online to get an idea, but I am going to write them all down to look at the paint store. (I live about 40 minutes from the Benjamin Moore paint store) I think the Sherwin Williams Queen Anne Lilac is really neat. It almost seems to go from pink to purple, which would work with what I am doing. I will have to hit the Sherwin Williams store also to see if it has too much tan and not enough gray. I have found some beautiful purples with the gray tone, but the pink is hard to find with gray in it. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, and please keep them coming. Comments (11)Go to the Pottery Barn Kids site and use the interactive girls room tool. Oops! It's actually Pottery Barn Teens. I'm sure the 3 year old will be thrilled! None of what I saw was too old for them, though. Just very colorful, fun and fresh looking! Really cute stuff. Right before I came here, I was going through my email. Got one for PB Kids. I have no idea why I clicked the link..I don't have kids. Anyway, I went, I saw and I just wasted over an hour at that site! LOL! Actually, it was kind of fun. Not 5 minutes into it, I thought of this post and your 2 little girls. There is a nice blue and green heart print that also has (lesser) purple hearts in it. I know the blue lover isn't the one that likes purple. That would be the pink lover. But if you added green into the blue lovers bed you could use her purple hearts to coordinate with the pink lovers bed. There is a lovely pink and orange color combo that would look lovely with blue or purple or even, green. The kids love mixing all these vivid colors. It has you pick out a comforter and shams, a duvet cover with shams, sheet set and an accent pillow. I really think if you play around with it you'd find something they will both fall in love with. Since the beds are in the same room you can get a certain "look" by making sure each bed has at least one thing the same as the other bed and pulling colors from each. There is someone who posts here, I can't remember who, but she did a fabulous girls room for 3 little girls and did their bath, too. Very, very colorful. Pretty, yet funky, too. Maybe someone will remember and give you a name or a link. Anyway, check it out.. it was fun, though pricey! ;) If that doesn't matter, you might want to let your girls play around with you using the tool. I think you could "guide" them to something you will all love. Good Luck! Your little girls sound delightful and adorable. Silly...See MoreNeed paint color help for little girls room
Comments (47)I did not prime the wall per the paint store's instruction. I did do two coats for the test, but the pictures are of 1 coat. It is definitely reading more of a light blue than I expected as well. My husband is convincing me to give it time. The only spot I don't like it is in the back corner of her room where she happens to have 3 competing doors (entry, closet and bathroom). In reality, I wouldn't normally stare at that spot. The focal point will be her bed and reading nook....See Morealways1stepbehind
