Window Treatment Challenge

J W
last year

My original plan was to hang drapery on the sides of the 16’ wide sliding doors. I have found rods to accommodate this width. However, due to poor planning on my part, the drapery would cover light switches. They’re not switches we use often, but still use.

An alternative is roller shades with three shades but get one long header made to go across them. Doing nothing is an option too but I don’t know if I’d like that for privacy reasons.

I don’t believe the sliders are recessed enough to allow for inside mount shades.

Photos include two of my house, 1 drapery inspiration & 1 roller shade example.

Please share your suggestions. I like that drapery adds texture & color and absorbs sound. Shades offer clean lines & essentially disappear & wouldn’t block light switches.
