please help me pick which Miele dishwasher is right for me?
Comments (16)One of the appliance folk can probably say with more certainty than I could but the model you chose looks like the Optima I had in my apartment, which was a great, great dw. I have a 10 y.o. Incognito though it dries very well. I've never opened the door. Here's what Miele says about how the drying system works -- it is not heated drying and requires no energy usage. "Most Miele dishwashers employ an advanced drying system that draws room temperature air through a port at the bottom of the appliance. This air is disbursed through special channels around the exterior dishwasher cavity and allows the interior water particles to condense against the walls of the dishwasher. During this process no external air is ever introduced inside of the dishwasher. This provides the most effective and hygienic drying possible." The reason the dishes get dryer on Saniwash is because that water is very hot and, provided the dw is fairly full, the condensation is quite complete. I have Ikea cabinets in the laundry room so I'm aware of precautions with those. Their plinth board in there is starting to peel though the cabinets are doing fine. I would just be aware and make adjustments needed. The DW does come with a front piece that is contiguous with the toe kick in my kitchen but that would depend on which Ikea cabinets are being used and how they are being installed. Crystal looks like a good choice to me....See MorePersil discontinued in Canada?
Comments (3)Persil doesn't sell directly into Canada from what I know. There are a bunch of different places that sell it(they import it themselves or through European distributors as the Persil detergents I have used are from Germany and Russia) so I'm not sure what this guy is talking about (Brandt Meats, Starsky's European Groceries amoung just 2 that still sell it). His store probably cannot get it any longer. BTW-I've heard good things about the Miele solutions and they are suprisingly no more expensive than Persil. LIP2000...See MoreAh ha! Miele debuts new 27 inch IntelliQ
Comments (47)Livebetter - I am sure you will be thrilled w/your new Miele's at least I hope so. So far I am thrilled w/my Bosch set. If I could have stacked the Miele's, I probably would have gone that route, however, I could not manage the price plus redoing a just done laundry to make them fit. It's interesting between the different appliance people and what they think of Samsung. My guy wants to dump them as soon as the contract is up do to the many, many repair calls. Yours recommended them. I find that interesting. Also, the delivery personal we had did an excellent job. One of them also owns the Bosch Vision series and he loves his as well. So that's 2 people from the same store both raving about what I just bought. I'm not overly concerned that Bosch is getting out of the 27" laundry set. Did concern me for a minute, however, my 7 yo dishwasher model I don't think is produced anymore, but they continue to use basically the same parts and well, it just hasn't needed serviced. I'm hoping I find the same for my washer. I love having the bigger drum. I believe mine is 4.3, coming from my approx 1.6 euro style Danby, it's like a cavern. I have yet to over fill it, but it's cut my laundry time in approx 1/2. I hope to see my water bill go down as well. I can't tell you the difference in how much each is using. Bosch claims 13 gals for an entire load, not sure what the Danby used, it doesn't say in the book, but if I've got to run 3 loads in there compared to 1 in the Bosch, I have to be saving something. All that said, I think you will find the 4.0 to be a good size. I have not tried my Q comforter yet, so I will let you know when I do. As for the steam in the dryer. I can't see myself using it very much. As I said, most items come up virtually wrinkle free to start with. We don't wear many dress shirts here, so I won't need it for that either. I will do some sweaters, but the heat it uses worries me for some things. I guess what I will have to do, is let a load dry, let it sit so it will wrinkle and then try the steam function to see if I can get it back to just been dried. So I would not worry about not having it....See MoreKitchenaid dishwasher part numbers help. discontinued??
Comments (1)There should be a digit following the A at the end. 0, 1, 2, or 3. That's the engineering change number and can be relevant to correct replacement parts. My look-up finds that 0, 2, and 3 take touch panel W10084183, which may substitute to W10078133. 1 takes W10078070, which may also substitute to W10078133. So, W10078133 for all revisions in this case for the touch panel ... but that may not always be the case which is why it's important to include all digits/characters for model number references. 1447608 is a RepairClinic inventory number, not a Whirlpool part number. The associated part number is W10111537 ... but that's a PC board, not a touch panel. Which is it you need ... the touch panel, or the board? I suppose it doesn't matter ... both are NLA. KUDS03FTPA takes a different touch panel, W10078129. It likely won't work on your model. There may be more buttons, different logic-arrangement for them on the ribbon cable that won't match the master control board on your unit. It's also NLA, so I suppose doesn't matter. Best you can do is check eBay (search for both the original and substitute numbers, and it's hit/miss whether someone is selling the item at any given moment). Also check any independent servicers you can find (both local and as far out-of-town as you're willing to go) on the chance someone has the item on-hand....See Morewdccruise
